I am getting pretty pumped going into this season, seeing great deer and a few really nice mature bucks that i have been documenting. Going into this season i wanted to change a few things, first off i got a new scope on the 870. I got a Nikon Slug Hunter (BDC). Sweet scope! its all mounted and bore sighted, just have to get my butt to the range.
Also bought a new ground blind, always good to have. I took the bow out to start slinging some sticks and i noticed my switchback XT had developed a bit of a sound upon release so i took that in for a tune and also added a sweet dead end string stop. Bow is grouping great at 30 so far and is dead quiet! feels faster as well...

i really have been doing my homework on watching the deer herd and i want to make sure there will be nothing that my equipment can do to come between me and that animal. If it does i can chalk it up to human error. Also me and my dad bought about 7 more stands and strap on ladders with some other goodies as well.

alls i can say is i am pumped to say the least!!

anyone else?

yeah i really want to start shootong at around the 50 mark to make those 20-30 yaders a chip... shooting in my yard i can only shoot out to 30, with the right angle i can shoot out just a bit more but im not pushing it. i should take the 3d out to the farm and shoot out there.

sounds like you guys are just about all set. I also am shooting at the 35 yard to 40 yard mark with the bow and both rifles are sighted in with one having a new 3 to 9 scope on it. I also shoot 3 times a week a 32 target 3D course all at un marked yardage. I have a bad leg and no longer can go in tree stands to I will be in Sept making up some more ground blinds. I use a rope around 3 tree, burlap camo material and then brush in. I also put a plastic chair ( green) from Walmart at each location. The chair has a tag on it with my name, phone and asks the person not to move or take as I am a physically challenged hunter. But feel free to use the blind etc....So far in 15 years I have lost only 2 chairs.

Thats a great idea, I moved back to 50 this year with my new bow and it helps alot at 20, 30, and 40. I am ready for the year, my season opens here in the northern zone at the end of the month.

I like to practice at 30. I can do 40 from the end of the driveway if not for the neigbots or passing traffic.  8)

Back to topic though, new additions would be a CVA 209, ladderstand, a dozen radial x-weaves, thought about a pair of ultimate camo pants.
