$$$ to Hunt your land

Recommended Posts

Willing to pay $$$ for access to hunt your land in Putnam County or surrounding counties (not westchester). Open to Connecticut as well.

Looking to hunt deer season with xbow, shotgun or rifle (if legal there). No tree stands will be put up.

Just 2 hunters, me and my Dad.

Thanks.

You're going to need to look a bit further north. Anyone with huntable land (large enough or ok with hunters) in Putnam either hunts it themselves or has it already leased out. There are lots of private clubs that already have most of the farms leased. I lost access to many farms because of this...can't blame the farmer...they need to pay their taxes and feed their families

maybe you can outbid the private clubs, but I suspect you'll need to pay anywhere from 10K to 15K per season. I know that what the farmers in Dutchass get for 200 area club leases. lots of NYC money to compete with

I'm open to counties north of Putnam, as I said "surrounding". I hear what your saying, but I'm not interested in 200 acres anyway. More like 10, would be good enough given the right area. I only hunt the weekends + thanksgiving and black Friday. This year I will have 2 extra weekends (with Xbow).

Lots of good state land and NYC land. check these places out. get in a few miles and get in early 4am or 5am...let the pumpkins push the deer to you

or make friends with some landscapers.....pay them to find you a hunting spot...offer them a few $100 for each estate they get you on

Good points, but again I'm still open to something private lol.

how much money do you want to spend?

It would depend on several variables:

  • Location of property
  • Amount of signs of deer on the property (of course, we would walk the property before making a deal)
  • Will anyone else be hunting the property
  • Any restrictions use of the property (My Dad hunts every single day, dark-dark)

Please PM me if you have something in mind. Thanks.

So you dad is going to hunt the parcel everyday and you are only looking for 10 acres. Then if there is a building near a one part of the property, that could effect up to 2 1/2 acres of the land in one direction. In reality 500 feet in all directions equals 10 acres. That is a major problem right there, 10 acres in not that large of area to hunt everyday, even with the best food source would cause the deer to mostly likely leave or turn nocturnal. Again this is just my own option.

He wouldn't necessarily hunt that piece every single day, my point was regarding restrictions if somebody only allows hunters to come certain days, etc. I should have explained better.
