In the last year or so I've gotten into craft beers. Anyone else like a good craft beer?

Some favs are: Maine Brewing IPA / Ale Smith Speedway Stout/ Ghandi Bot/ anything from Eviltwin. Liking the high abv % the most. One or two 9-13% beers and relax on our deck or around the fire pit.

Have to admit I had a Genny pounder at the inlaws on the 4th. Wasn't as good as when I was in HS, lol. Please don't blast me for becoming a beer snob ,lol. Just liking quality over quantity these days  Trying to land some Russian River from CA and Headdy Topper from Vermont .

Huge fan of craft beers. I try to sample something new every time I walk into a bar or store. Can't drink as much as I used to these days so instead of hammering down Coors light I sip on 2-3 good crafts. It's become a little commercial but Six point brewing company has been my go to for awhile now.

I like Sixpoint's stuff but whatever you do DO NOT drink their RAD !!! My first drainpour. Looks like OJ and tasted like grapefruit juice and vomit . Keep your eyes open for Sierra Nevada's Beer Camp asst 12 pack compilation due to arrive in NY any day. It includes a lot of breweries that normally won't sell by law in NY. Russian River, Cigar City, New Glarus, Three Floyds, etc. Very limited but heard great things about it .

There's agood place in green point brooklyn called Spritzenhaus....hispster beer garden. kinda pricy, but the beer are plentiful and good. if you're over 25 you'll be the oldest onethere and if you pay with cash as opposed to plastic they look at you like an odd ball. oh you also need an outragous beard

I used to be a Labatt Blue guy only.  Then I tried a craft beer at a friends house, and now I'm hooked.  I try to get new to me beers when I buy.  Ususally a 12 pack lasts me a while, as I only have 2 maybe 3 here and there.  I am a fan of Southern Tier brewing, Saranac, Bells, Shock tops in the summer time.  There are a bunch of places around here that will fill up a 64OZ Growler for about $10-$12 and thats always in interesting experience too.

I havent purchased a Labatt Blue in maybe 2 or 3 years.

HA HA HA HA, the last time my Dad visited, he asked if I had any beer...so I gave him a sip of my Sam Adams Rebel IPA, and he spit it out....asked if I had any Coors Light, I ended up giving him a Shock Top Belgian White.

:O

Only the last 30 years or so ! Back then they were called micro brews. Been out to Seatlle to drink and tour their micro brewerys in the 80s.

My favorite Dogfish Head Raison D'être was discontinued ,which I have not found a suitable replacement as of yet. This has caused me great struggles .

As for Genny, I do try to support them, they are adding jobs in Roch. So I feel an obligation to help, them along. For a house brand they have some decent stuff,I really like the Bock, and the light ( I never drink light ) stands up,against anyone's.

Sometimes I just drink Gennys to thumb my nose at the beer snobs,I've drank more craft beers then a dozen of the newbie drinkers combined, yet I would never put anyone down for their choice.

Genny also make plenty of craft beers.

Damn, I'm just off nights, now I want to make a trip to the beer isle !

I get. Heady Topper from a neighbor who goes up there from time to time.

Over all not an IPA fan, more of a malt guy.

Love me some Beers of the World.

I really like Belgian/White Ales and Summer Ales.

Some of my favorites:

Harpoons Summer Ale and UFO

Goose Island - darn near anything they make, but especially their summer ale

Sapporro (not really a craft beet, just foreign).

I have had the Heady topper about 2 weeks ago, from what I hear they produce limited amounts and it sells out pretty fast and costs a pretty penny. Overall it was alright to me, I could of got an Ithaca 6 pack of flower power and been just as happy . Lately I have been enjoying my local brewshops where I get my growler filler between $10-$18 a fill up. One of my all time favorites was a Double Tap Maple Porter.

Going to Ithaca this weekend and getting a growler of Flower Power to come home with us.  And hitting up Bandwagon brewery, Rooster Fish in Glen Falls and Two Goats along Seneca Lake. The best part of a growler= only one serving. Growlers o'plenty

I'm on board with those. I just picked up a growler of Scotch Ale for tonight!

Just found out I'll be at the Pearl st Brewery in Buffalo Sat. Night ,taking youngest and her BF of 4 years out to eat. He's from Texas, but went to UB on a full ride for soccer but will be going to law school next year in Iowa, where it turns out his grand parents own a farm!

Looks like they have some nice beers there, may have to spend the night......

My grandfather use to be the under the table brew master for Becks Brewery in Buffalo years ago. He wrote all his brew receipts down in a language, all of his own. I remember him saying what made the best beer was a 4 row barley out of Canada along with a special type of hops, secret to it's location, all it's own.

I only wish I was of age to try some of his brews in those days, now that I'm of age to really appreciate what use to be called real beer. I also wish I had inherited his ability to make a fine beer!

You got me excited when you said Glens Falls for Roosterfish because I am about 20 minutes away from there, but after my google search it looks like you meant Watkins Glen. Let me know how it is, always looking for a reason to travel on the weekends!

I highly suggest Liberty Hound for food and beer. Within yards of the Naval Ships (where someone stole all the flags this weekend). DO NOT park directly in front of the apartments nearby however (found out the hard way with a $50 ticket). We had pan seared tuna with wonton chips, pickled seaweed and a sirachi mayo, banana pepper cheese dip with wonderful bread and some homemade fries dusted with parmasean cheese, truffle oil and fresh parsley. The burgers looked great too. Waterfront was really nice.

Resurgence brewing is approx 10 minute drive down Niagara st. It's an old firehall I believe. Lots of picnic tables inside and out. Giant Jenga which when they fall everyone yells "Jenga"  Dominoes and checkers on tables to play. Sponge candy stout is supposed to be good but been out the last 2x I've been there. The stretch of Niagara st to get there and surrounding is not the best area however. I did stuff the 40 in my waistband.
