I just returned from the ATA show in Indianapolis. There was a compnay hawking these trees for food plots for attracting deer. I'm interesting in learning more about their effectivness. I would be planting in a nice opening created by logging on my new place in Spencer NY, Tioga county. Can I get some feedback?

they are great trees if you can find them.b they do not flower till July and produce sweet nuts every year.chestnuts were considered weed trees by farmers for their, ability to grow every where. They prefer a slightly acid soil and wI'll grow 3 to 5 ft a year once established. I would fence or tree tube them as deer will brouse on them.
