Stopandshop sounds like a convenient store. Sounds like a crazy amount for 2 bags.

We shop at 3 stores, depending on what we want or need.

No they are a regular grocery store we normally do our shopping in CT but have to much going on to go that way this weekend.picked up some lunchmeat cheese and some other every day need's but dang exspesive  this is about what we would spend every 2 weeks on these items.I guess what really pissed me is knowing the money is not going to the farmers

I have one in town where I live and I've seen prices on everyday items more than double over the last 10 years. Not to mention the items are smaller in size or volume and the prices have gone up. I remember paying $1.50 for a gallon of milk 10 years ago now I'm paying close to $5. It's ridiculous when they try to sell you a so called sale item when in fact they increase the regular price before marking it down to put it on sale. Even shopping at big bulk stores like BJ's you can't get out of there without spending a minimum of $300 again for everyday things.

Dom,

You need to have a garden to provide the veggies to go along with your fish and game to lower your grocery bill more. You can even grow melons in NY ( I grow mine on black plastic mulch):

We do have a garden and grow most of our veggie's we buy our meat directly from local farm, but there are some things we cant make our selves.Agreed Aldi's is a good store but had no time to go there.Deerthug is also correct shopping at bulk store's can get very costly to.

ALWAYS…ALWAYS.. Let the wife do the shopping…..I learned that a long time ago. Even if I stop at the gas station for a gallon of milk, I have to hear about how I paid too much…BLAH…BLAH….BLAH….Im  numb to it but what the hell??

It's not that I cant wont and will she has more time to do so than I.We all pay the price's just for some reason the Lady's/wives are smarter when it comes to shopping. You and I will purchase at any store and cost is no issue as long as we are doing rite for our family's

Wow almost $5 for milk? I thought it was getting bad around here. I just got a gallon of milk tonite and it was $3.29 at tops. At save a lot It is $2.75. Prices are going up everyday though and the size of products is getting smaller. Meat is the worst I believe. Even chicken and hamburg and they use to be the cheap meat to use for dinner.Hunting season sure helps with the grocery bill no matter your income. The garden is a big help as well. Lots of freezing and canning around the house this time of year.

Just yesterday I went with my wife to Stop and Shop to get stuff for a BBQ today and we left spending nearly $100 and we did not get any meat. $14 lb for skirt steak no frigging way!! On our way to John's Farms this morning for the meat.

I like going to the grocery store...... there is no one else to do it!

Been to a few places where getting something to eat for many of the locals is a tall order.

Grateful  to have a zillion choices and its relatively affordable for my wages; although like most I'm careful in my spending.

I just paid 4 bucks for a gallon of milk at the local store.  funny part is most people will pay 2 bucks for a 16 ounce soda, or bottle of water which is 16 bucks a gallon.

Good point bubba.  It KILLS me to buy water in a bottle but I'll do it 9/10 time over a pop (that's soda to you downstate geeks :D ).

$10? I'm not sure what it is honestly. I barely use milk. Just a little in my cereal each morning, that's it. I like whole foods for its meats and fish departments.
