Actually it was kind of.........it was coming at me about 100 yards out then turned and started to go east, to my left.  I squeaked a couple times quickly on the back of two fingers and as usual that sealed his fate.

 

The shot was about 85-90 yards.  165 gr Nosler BT

Dammit Larry..

You may have inspired me to take my 9.3 x 62 down to PA next Monday and shoot a poor little dolly deer....

Should I use the 250 grain Barnes X or the 270 grain Speer semi spitzer..??

Oh..............those are both dandy bullets.  I'd say it's a flip of a coin, with the Barnes most likely to win if I was doing the flipping!!

That's ridiculous !!! I seen an Elk hit with one of those canons; too low, and the Elk ran away never to be found. Goes to show, shot placement is everything.

Me personally, I'll stick with my .243; or 7mm-08
