They have free range ostrich hunts in the states?

No I was on a bowhunting trip for mountain lions.  We had an Ostrich chase us down one day.  Guide new about an escaped Ostrich that killed a ranch owners worker.  Ripped him open from waist to neck when he was trying to load cattle on a truck.  The ranchers would let Ostrich run wild with the cattle as supposedly it would keep mountain lions away.  The rancher never was able to catch the ostrich and it was roaming free for quite some time.  My guide tracked down the rancher and he learned that the fish and game department had been trying to track down and kill this Ostrich.  Fish and Game issued us a permit to kill it if we came in contact with it again.  So it went from a mountain lion hunt to an Ostrich hunt.  The bow went in its case and the 30.06 came out.  We went back to the same spot where we last seen it.  Didnt take long to see a big black blob in the distance at the foothills in the desert.  It also didnt take that Ostrich long to come charging at us in no time flat.  It took 3 rounds in the chest to drop that thing.  The ID tag on its ankle confirmed it was the Ostrich they were after.  Nothing in my life ever felt so wrong after walking up to that thing laying there.  We were asked to put it down by the game and fish department if we could.  Meat was divided up amongst rancher, a food pantry, the guide and myself.  It was very good, like eating steak.
