Checked a couple of cameras today that were set up on some oaks, had 6 bucks on camera since Thanksgiving...

What makes you think that's a yearling deer?  Not being a smartass at all I just think his body looks pretty chunky for a yearling.

 

Look how short the snout is...Says "yearling" to me..Most two year olds up this way have much bigger antlers, also.

He looks chunky because he isn't very long.

Those apples all piled up quite nicely in 2013 I notice. ^_^

You are correct. There was a bumper crop of apples last fall. This particular cam was set up on the Apple tree and there were apples on the ground through November. I may have accidentally grabbed a few branches and shook them a bit to accelerate the drop age...
