Wader Recommendations

Recommended Posts

I am looking into taking a trip down to FL to visit a friend and he will be taking me duck hunting for the first time. I am told I need to bring a pair of waders. Can anyone recommend a good pair? I have a feeling that this is something that I will def be hooked on right away so I don't want to cheap out on something that will only last me a couple of uses but don't need to buy top of the line either. I would like something that I can use up here as well so I assume I need to get something that is good in all temps. Any help is greatly appreciated as I know nothing about duck hunting and what features I should be looking for. Thanks in advance.

I'll be watching this thread with interest.

I have had a pair of Lacrosse 3MM neoprenes for over 10 years...Very comfortable and plenty warm with 1000GM thinsulate boot feet. This fall they sprung a major leak while I was duck hunting the river in November.

DAMN, but that water was cold..!!...

I have started researching another pair..I lean toward the Lacrosse because the last pair were good ones, but many of the reviews favor other brands, such as Cabela's.

I use them for cold weather fishing and duck hunting... I am eyeing the Cabela's 3MM boot foot lug sole, for about $180, but I am not ready to pull the trigger yet.

Since Lacrosse has outsourced to China, their reviews have been inconsistant.

Macks prairie wings brand, i don't see a model, but there mossy oak break up camo. I have been very pleased . You don't make duck hunting waders in the duck Capitol of the world for nothing is what the guy told me !!

Im pretty sure the name brand of mine are RedBall. They were pretty cheap so I wasn't sure what to expect from them but they worked great. I used them alot for walking the river to trout fish I have been in the faster parts of salmon river many times over, swamps for finding deer. They have held out great. Have been using them for about 5 years now.
