.223 (1 Bolt & 1 Semi)

7mm-08 Bolt

.30 Carbine Semi

.30-30 Levers (2 of them)

.308 (1 Bolt & 2 Semi)

.30-06 Bolt

7.62x39 Semi (2 of them)

7.7 Jap Custom Bolt

.325 WSM Bolt

.357 Mag Lever

.35 Rem Lever

.375 H&H Bolt

.45 Muzzle Loader

12 Ga Savage Fully Rifled Bolt

All the rest are collector pieces.  I think I have everything I need, but not everything I want. ;)

BTW that's only 8 calibers and 2 gauges, but it is 17 chamberings for 17 different cartridges counting the M/L.

I had a 1970 Winchester Mod 70 in .338 Win Mag.  I did not like it, as it was heavy and had a lot of felt recoil.  I sold it and got the Kimber 8400 Montana in .325 WSM to replace it.  Much lighter with less felt recoil, plus stainless steel with a kevlar composite stock.

Unless you are going out west for Elk or Grizz, you don't need either of them.

What caliber rifles do you own and what do you feel your gun selection is missing?

I currently have:

.270 Win

22lr

45-70

.223

20ga (rifled if that counts)

More correctly your question should be....."what chamberings do you own?".  But that would be nit picking............ :)

A 7mm/.284" caliber could these.....

7x57,7mm Ackley Imp., 7mm Wby., 284 Win., 280 Rem. Std. & Imp., 7x61 S&H, 7mm Rem. Mag., 7mm-308.,7mm-300 Wby., 7mm Rem. Exp., 7mm-06, 7mmTCU, 7mm-08, 7mm BR, 7mm STW, 7mm WSM, 7mm-30 Waters, 7mm Rem. Ultra, 7mm/300 WSM

A 30 caliber/.308" could be any of these................

308 Win., 7.62 NATO, 30-06 Std. & Imp., 300 Win., 30-30, 30-40 Krag, 300 Wby., 308 Norma Mag., 30-338, 30-378 Wby., 300 Sav., 300 H&H Std. & Imp., 300 Rem Ultra, 300WSM.

Here is the link to the source of that info...........

http://www.douglasbarrels.net/chamberings/

Personally I have things covered for any thing I'm planning to do with a 223, 223ai, 243win, 257Rob, 260Rem, 7mm-08, 300wsm and 375hnh.

I just got my father a Kimber Montana .308 and it certainly cover many bases and will be just fine for him.  Me, I'd go nuts with one rifle that covered all those bases.  :)

I won't mention shotguns or ML's...................

Figured so but that Savage Alaskan Brush Hunter just looks sexy lol. Oh well maybe I'll just admire it from a far.

I love my Kimber Montana in 7mm-08 and use it for 90% of my big game hunting.  I could survive with just that one rifle if I had to.  I'd just need a shotgun for small game and birds.

Someday when senility sets in, maybe I'll trim the collection down to just those two.

I guess I'd still need a slug gun though.

And a muzzle loader.......

And a .22.....

And here we go again!!!

LOL!

.22 LR semi-auto (squirrels, rabbit, coons, fox, porky's, coyote-night), .22-250 bolt (woodchucks, coyote-day), .30/06 bolt (elk out west, deer/bear - NY zone 6), 12 ga bolt (deer - NY zone 9), .50 ML (deer/bear).  Those 5 cover all the bases well enough for me.  If either of my daughters get into it in a few years, I will get a .243 bolt.

I no longer hunt varmints or predators, so my battery is missing .22 to .24 centerfires...

Small game and pests....17 Mach II and .22 LR ( or a shotgun)...

Medium to large game...7MM08 and .280 Rem.

Medium to large game anywhere that there are GRIZZLIES..9.3 x 62.

Coyotes...Whatever firearm I have when I see one...Providing, of course, that the season is open..I never EVER violate game laws, or any other law for that matter.

Once, in my misspent youth, ( I was 18) I recieved a ticket for an unsafe tire..

I felt so GUILTY...It has haunted me for many years...

Nice list of guns for king Andy & his ny safe act. to see !

Yes it is.  I like to show him all the rifles I took with me when I left the state.  None of which were even affected by the SAFE Act other then some magazines that nobody is sure are still legal or not.  I already sent him info on my annual state income and sales taxes paid to my new state too.  I think Remington and Kahr Arms did the same thing.

:D

This is for Andy
