What's with all the dove questions? Except for Dove Soap, I honestly have no idea what a dove is?

You really don't know what a dove is?

If you are joking, I am missing it.

Yeah, it probably would have been useful to have a "No Opinion" selection. That would have been my response on all of the dove questions. I know that dove hunting is not something that I will ever engage in or have a whole lot of interest in.

Doc,

Based on the comments above, it is pretty obvious that this survey might uncover some statistical inferences that disinterested hunters tend to oppose what does not directly benefit them rather than remain neutral.

I have no interest in any sort of deer hunting, so if I gripe about no such option as no opinion, is my gripe as important as yours?

Perhaps the survey was a "targeted survey" structured for hunters who DO have an opinion on all the subjects and those that do not are not a target of the survey?

My comment was simply intended to make the results more meaningful, truthful and perhaps useful. I see no value in people commenting on things they have no interest in, or knowledge of.

In some states, it's the most popular small game species.Very challenging targets. Think pigeons W/afterburners that kick in after the 1st shot. Hunting is usually done from makeshift blinds (brush/tree cover) in fence rows along crop fields.

Most laws against dove hunting are because of Bambi lover types that see the pretty birdies as the bird of peace.

Can't see any reason not to allow dove hunting.

Can't see any reason to pay extra to hunt doves either.

Most dove seasons open on Sept 1st and are great hunting activities in warm weather with a group.  Lots of money is spent by hunters during dove season for breakfast, dinner, gas, shells, new guns, hunting clothes, decoys, bars afterwards and even leases on good fields.

Dove hunting is perfect practice for wing shooters, serving as an early season tune up of your shooting skills. Hunters could kill half the doves in the state every year and their numbers would still be higher next year.  They are also good to eat.
