Seeing any turkeys???

What's everyone seeing around for turkey action? I saw several small flocks out in fields today (about 50 birds total / 17 longbeards in the mix). Thankfully, they seemed to have fared the past 6-7 weeks pretty well.  There was no strutting going on today even though 3 out of the 4 groups of toms were with hens. They all seemed to be far more interested in scratching up some food over romance. Can't blame them after what they've just been through...

Not a sign nor a peep from them. It is still snowing on the hill, we got almost an inch last night and it's 19 degrees....They usually won't come back up the hill until the weather settles a bit....

Did see the 1 hen near the road in Dansville but no where else in my back road travels....

For the first time this year, saw six hens and a tom on a bare spot in a field, just down the road, this morning. They were scratching for food and looked to be in good shape. Haven't seen any in the field behind the house yet, hoping they made it too.

Been keeping my eye on a group of 30 or so, 3-4 long beards in the mix. They roost and spend most of their time right along a cow pasture and fly right down into the cow pies left by the cattle at sunrise for an easy bite, or after the farmer comes through with the manure spreader. Watched them strutting up a storm about a week ago, but hens didn't bat an eye which wasn't surprising. Looking forward to may

3 walking around the parking lot at the office.  Two are Toms.

They know they are safe here from hunting here - housing developement across the street and the Thruway on the otherside.

They have chased people in the parking lot and hung around the front door of the building, so there are coyote decoys set up to try to persuade them to move elsewhere.

I saw a flock of perhaps 30 yesterday afternoon just noth of Addison, feeding in corn stubble.

This morning at coffee, one of the Mermaid's neighbors said there were birds gobbling up a storm across the road from his house this morning..

They are probably gobbling right NOW, since it is thundering out there..

Oh my gosh the field boarding our back line had a huge flock and 5 deer...all told from there home at least 26 turkey and 13 deer...it was a combo rain snow and they were in a tight group in the cut oats he inter planted with clover

Oh and at work Wednesday night I talked with a Gobbler up in the tree farm...to the bee keepers wifes delight..... I got it to come down and gobble right next to us...she laughed and laughed...which is about all I understand for she speaks Greek and very little English...

Started seeing 4 hens in my area near Bullville about 3 weeks ago. Last week the group grew to be 9 hens. This morning was the first time I saw a Tom with the hens and he was a pretty big one. Must be related to the one I saw a few years ago. It was so big it looked like a walking boulder.
