I'm betting you could get a real nice original sweet 16 for MUCH less than $1700..Ib fact I know a guy who has a minty one and I'll bet if I offered him $1000 for it right now he'd about break his arm grabbing the money.

The last time I was there the Cabela's in Berlin MA had a few old A5's in the used gun racks and a dozen or more really nice ones in the Gun Parlor.

One 20ga and the rest were are 12's.  Prices ranged from about $550 to just over $1,000.

I love the Sweet Sixteen. My very first firearm purchase was a Belgian Browning Sweet Sixteen in 1966. Still have it ...even though it went through a flood and was damaged.

Was that the'72 Agnes Flood, perchance ?

Indeed it was. Our house was under water up into the second floor. We were evacuated twice. The whole debacle still rings fresh in my mind. We had to totally gut and redo the house. Major PIA.

I was on active duty in the Navy at the time, serving aboard a Destroyer home ported in NYC..

I  hitchhiked home the weekend of the flood.  Fortunately, my folks are all HILL FOLK and they were high and dry.

Lots of friends got flooded, however..
