Hunting Land Dilemma

Honestly 125,000 for 100 acres sounds pretty good to me! Where I hunt, that would be close to 500,000 or 250,000 if your lucky. I would say to offer 100,000 if that better fits you budget if your willing to buy. The worst he can say is that its too low, but he may just accept it. The question is, is the land worth it. Investing in land is a great thing and is well worth more then going on out of state hunts for the rest of your life IMO.

The rail road bed could pose a problem if he doesn't own it. The rail road often sell such lands...then what you have is someone that has legal "excess" through the middle of your land.

I know this because father and brother did just that and ran a small scrap yard on the rail bed. This ran through/ along sides several properties a great distance in Groveland NY...major headache for many including them.
