My wife is getting ready to go on her second vacation, in a month, with her sister and my daughter. The other day she started to question why I had to pay $500 to put brakes on my truck??? She said I should have gotten a few estaminets first… When I sarcastically agreed with her and pointed out what an outlandish luxury it is to have working brakes, she got the picture and left me alone….LOL!!!

Definition of a "Pleasure Trip"...

Taking your wife, her sister and her mother to the airport for a month long vacation.

Ahhh who needs brakes! Now a real luxury is something like Insurance, Registered vehicle, god forbid inspected.. Or ever refill the windshield wiper fluid.

Replaced all 4 rotors and pads on the car for under $200, brembo parts. DIY is great, more money for hunting and fishing gear.

Hey, that's where I come in.

I'm single and don't have the wife/sneak in problem.

So, I'd be more than happy to save your marriages by storing your new guns for you and you can come and visit them anytime (by prior appointment of course, they may be "out" exercising).

Just an offer to help you guys out, 'cause that's the kind of friend I am!

So I take that you provide "walking" services to make sure the guns stay in shape?

You have to ultimately look at the overall time + material + tools to determine a final price....I have replaced brakes and rotors and and unless the job goes seemless IMO it is cheaper to let the shop handle it...I think I saved around 90 bucks and if I needed torches or anything else to help with a difficult job I would have been in the negative.

Takes about 15 minutes a side to do the front pads on 2006 Daytona Charger. But that's Mercedes Benz engineering for ya.

according to VJP, your wife hates her life and is vacationing to escape her reality.

Congrats on the new gun!

I really don't have an issue when it comes to buying guns. When I bought the two I got last summer and the g/f asked "Why two?", I said "You can't hunt turkey with a rifle. I plan to have as many guns as you have nail polish colors.". That was the end of that. As long as I can afford it, I can buy any gun I want.

EDIT: Except an AR. She's trying to be tough about that but, I am softening her and so is the news. LOL

The wife doesn't know the safe combo and "they all look the same " to her.

I like your response to why two. She got a sister ? Oh wait, that ain't going to work....back to the wife thing lol
