Last april I planted ten apple trees. I picked the apples off when they were about the size of a small cherry so the tree could get a good start . All ten trees made it threw the winter and have alot of blossoms on them. Should i snip the apples off again, or should I let them grow. Also should I fertilize and if so with what fertilizer 10 -10-10?

I just bought some fruit tree fertilizer stakes that you pound into the round near the tree. Pretty simple to use.

I would let the fruit set and grow. If they made it through the winter, their roots are doing good. Too late to do any pruning now, do that in more to late winter when the tree is dormant.

Let fruit set and thin to 4 to 6 inches apart if you want max growth for yourself.. if nit.leave them all but knick some off if limbs have to much weight and stand chance of breaking..

i agree pruning is more of a march thing to do.  weight might help as long as it won't break.  thicker soft string like baler twine, that won't cut into tree under load, can be used too to prevent breaking somtimes.  want limbs growing out not up, accept for your single center leader that's your strongest.  you can use wood slat braces to ease branches down and outward otherwise.  anything with just nitrogen, like Urea, is good for them when this young.  also something carefully sprayed like 1yr ground clear to keep weeds away helps.

depends on what you want to spend.  you can get a 12 footer for $50+ per tree last i checked.

50 bucks for a 12 ft tree seems super cheap to me, how long would it take for apples with it that size?

It would have then this year but your better knocking off to let it put energy into roots 1st year of transplanting

may not be 12' depending on the variety.  still talking a young tree that isn't grown out at all and would maybe have a dozen apples at very most.  i put $50+ because later in the season places sell them at around fair time for that much.  they're whatever is left over though.  usually over stock that are less desired but cross pollinate well.  could easily double that if a place has to order what you want.

Try going to an apple orchard and getting clippings from their trees. Its free and they produce earlier.
