that looks like rough cut...2x2's and your left overs...shouldn't be running too much....if your a scrounger...check out soom construction roofing jobs ..you may be able to pick up enough roofing rubber for free or check out the lumber yards for cover pieces that come off metal roofing shipments...they can't be sold as roofing but work and are discounted.

Good chance a plastic shed for 225.00 will buckle with normal wny winter weather....the board and batten should hold the test time.

don't know the area or the neighborhood and I'm not bashing creativity and ingenuity. but judging by the pics the neighbors look close and I wouldn't be too thrilled if someone built a "shed" out of leftover lumber. just saying.

Nice job. Thinking of building one for firewood storage. Pallets are a dime a dozen. Nails are expensive enough and quality isn't the best.  Have to drill pilot holes though. Come in really handy keeping a couple cords dry. Keep it under the size requirements for a building permit.

I don't judge natural wood an eye sore. People pay big money for old barn boards in some areas of the country these days.. Looks like good quality design and workmanship to me. Of coarse Clarence are is still country oriented. Beautiful community.

Our goat barn was built out of rough cut, why I recognized it as such . We never stained or painted and it weathered to a very pretty grey ...20 years old and still in great shape...Out lasting the shingled roof, that's getting a new metal roof covering this year. His shed will look just fine when all done and stained.
