Sako 85 Hunter - .270

Recommended Posts

Thinking of selling my sako 85 hunter.  Its a .270 and was used primarily for target shooting.  I only hunted with it 2 times.  Perfect condition.  Includes sako rings/mounts (low) and a new zeiss 3-9 conquest.  Really great package.  The gun is for sure a shooter.  Well under MOA.  Wood is beautiful.  Perfect condition and less than 100 rounds through it.  Purchased in 2014 for $2100, $150 for the rings and scope was $350.  I will also include approximately 9-10 boxes of ammo (Winchester power max bonded) that cost around $200.  This gun loves the ammo.  Total package was approx. $2800.  Will let it all go for $1,800.  Buyer pays transfer fees.

Only selling because I also bought a sako .308 Bavarian carbine and really just don't need both guns.

I know, I know, photos will be posted.  In the meantime, for those not familiar, it looks just like the one on the sako website:  http://www.sako.fi/rifles/sako-85/85-hunter

Pygmy, just think about how all the girls will flock when you carry this in the woods.  I did make my longest kill shot with this gun too, but long shots are a rarity where I hunt.

I called it the hunter but mine is actually the classics.  Differences being straight comb (better cheek weld) and no open sights since there is no point having open sights on this long range shooter.  Sorry for the mistake on model name.

That said, for everyone (EXCEPT LAW) see photos.  Note that I am not great at catching wood grain in photos but this stock is really nice.  I ask eurooptic to send me photos of the five they had in stock and selected the best:

there is one very slight indentation that I am sure could be steamed out.  Was able to catch it at this angle (lower corner)

Wow......If I COULD see it, I'd say it is a beauty of a gun!  I can ONLY imagine the joy someone will find in owning a real piece of work like that.

I'm going on my wife's Ipad and take a look when she gets home and unlocks her safe.........

Good luck with sale!

This is an absolute dream rifle!!! It is a steal for the asking price! If only I could afford it right now, it would be on it's way to me.

Yeah, me too, Grampy ..However I need another rifle like I need another hole in the head..

Besides that, if I were shelling out the sheckels  for a Sako, it would  be like Moog's OTHER rifle, the full stocker, and it would be in  a different caliber.  ( Can you say 6.5 X 55 ?)....hehehe...

Moog is my HEE-RO ....When I grow up I want to be just like HIM !
