Don't let anyone make you feel bad or belittle you for taking a legal buck! To each their own!

if so us as hunters shouldnt kill small bucks to many guys shoot whatever im not saying hold out for a booner but atlest a 100" deer is a good mark. If everyone did this across the state we all would be killing better and bigger bucks. I my self would be embarresed to even shoot any thing under 100" thats just me, ive killed small bucks yes but i was 12. I always try and kill a bigger or atleast the same size buck as the previous years kill.
congrats on your kill and yes this deer is 1.5 and looks to have good genes yes he would of been a great deer @ 3.5yrs old. you can tell is age by his mass on is antlers,as well as the shorter snout.
These are the deer you have to pass, passing isnt a bad thing it makes you a better hunter and strengthens your patiences.

Coming from somebody who started hunting on a farm that practiced QDM, I would have taken him! I missed out on so many bucks as a kid, and was only allowed to shoot certain bucks. It sucked! That's not what hunting should be about. You can't eat the horns. Unless you own 500+ acres, and have the support of other local land ownders, QDM is a waste of time.

+1. That is a nice buck.If that buck walked by my stand the only thing that would pass is a radial-x-weave though him. Clean shot provided of course.
Now last year maybe he was only a spike or fork, different story.

To live only for some future goal is shallow. It's the sides of the mountain, which
sustain life, not the top. Here's where things grow." ~ Robert Pirsig
Paraphrasing Pirsig if I may, I appreciate a nice rack as much as the next hunter but I don't hunt deer for what's on top of their head. Christ, there's people that breed whitetails for bigger racks and then others will pay to hunt them in an enclosed area. Where does it all end? Be happy with what you can get. If someone wants to hold out for something bigger, more the power to them but don't denigrate someone else's deer by being a horn snob. You can't eat the horns isn't a silly statement, it's true. (except over in Asia where they like to grind 'em up to get their own horn bigger

"You can't hang the backstraps on the wall".. Let me paraphrase that for you . If your going to set out to climb a mountain, then set you sights on the top and prepare to go all the way. If you come up short, at least you gave yourself everything you needed to have the chance to reach it. Otherwise why even bother to try.."Mountains should be climbed with as little effort as possible and without desire. . .

Very true... nobody climbs a mountain just to go half way... that may be where they end up... but the goal is always the top!"You can't hang the backstraps on the wall"..
