  1. I carry a Gatorade bottle and carefully use it in my stand. I believe the less scent we leave on the ground the better.
  2. Apologies. I was looking at Dteve D's picture not rechunter's original. It appears to be an elmas indicated by the rough bark.
  3. That would be an ash a la Louisville Slugger.
  4. Assuming you were hunting in Suffolk County, as your profile states- why were you taking a shot so long after sunset? You state "it was already a little dark" apparently you shot under poor conditions and past legal hunting time. Hopefully you find the deer. Be discreet next time.
  5. Nice buck. Congrats on super bow hunt.
  6. It's(SQ2) been good to me but I was itchy for a new bow as I've had this since 2001 or 2002. I upgraded to a Creed XS 60 pound draw weight. Mathews are carried by my local shop and I like the service provided but I did shop other brands.

  8. How large is the property? .95? 9.5? 95? acres ?
  9. Nice video. It's interesting what you caught deer doing. I wonder if deer recognize the scent as a familiar beast or is it just curiosity? I put cameras on a couple of gut piles during the season and have a doe cautiously sniffing around the bloody spot. She did not look alarmed. Aside from the deer a pair of coyotes, a pair of foxes and some crows fed on the piles. I was hoping to catch a bear or bobcat.
  10. It's done just like you have it. I never bake it, it never lasts past the weekend anyway.
  11. The caption is in bad taste and shows a disregard for the deer taken. I don't think a sportsman would post such garbage. Hopefully it is just a bad attempt at being funny.
  12. This is my first year with a trail cam. My intention was to see what animals were feeding in my berry patch and I got shots of coyotes, foxes, opossums, coons, a bear, deer and small game. I recorded numerous small bucks all summer and early fall but nothing big. During the first week in October I moved a camera to small hidden deer run not oriented to any obvious food source-it looked classic buck. I left it until last week. My eyes popped when I saw this. Enlarge the picture for a better view.
