  1. Heres a good link to find land with camps. This is where I found my 55 acres with a camp already on it. You can search by town or county. Chenango County has some great hunting and plenty of state land availble as well. Good luck with your search! http://www.landandfarm.com/search/New-York-land-for-sale/
  2. Does anybody know of an insurance company that will insure a camp against vandalism or theft? I went to get insurance on my camp and was told by home insurance carrier that they absolutely would not protect against vandalism or theft. Only for fire and structural damage due to weather, trees and what not. I can get liability insurance, but I want to also be covered for vandalism and theft. My camp is 1/2 mile off the closest dirt road with only 1 entrance and no electric. I do go and check on it quite often but I would like to be covered in case something did happen. Anybody have any experience with this, or what other options i have?
  3. I thought these ones turned out pretty cool.
  4. Finally got a couple day time shots of this guy.
  5. No I don't do the deer contest. I'm not trying to impress anyone. lol.. I spend more time hunting rabbits with my redtail hawk than I do deer hunting anyway.
  6. Been a long time since I've been out with my camera. Got the new addition just about wrapped up at camp - that's gonna free up a lot of time. Heres a couple shots from the past couple nights. And this guy is number 1 on my hitlist this year. Still don't have any trail cam pics of this dude. Not sure what he's got for points but he's not getting a pass from me this year.
  7. Dang Wooly I thought this thread was going to be about you getting a new script. haha
  8. Just bought my camp this year. It has 55 acres that butts up to state land. In the spring will be putting on an addition and putting in a pond. My first project was to put in an island / bar with a 8.5x5.5 granite top. Then just started clearing some trees for more parking area. I can see spending a lot of my time off up here...
  9. Yup I've seen a bunch already this year as well. That would be my guess is the lemming population is at a cycle low this year.
  10. Hey Doc - for my wildlife shots I use a Nikon D7100 with a Nikon 200-400 f/4 zoom lens. Not sure why they always look pissed-off. Guess that's just how they look.. My redtail hawk will get bloody when she eats rabbits and such. When it drys she just preens herself and the blood just dissapears. might be some sort of oil on her feathers that don't let it stain? Not really sure.
  11. This is the first time I've ever seen one of these in the wild. Such a beautiful bird. Glad I had the camera with me. Hope everyone has a great Christmas and New Year too! Dave
  12. I know many of you guys liked following my posts last year on our hunting adventures with my Redtail Hawk Moka. Well here she is now with her her full red tail. Been hunting her quite a bit but we still have so much vegetation on the underbrush it makes it kinda hard. Our last years tally on rabbits was 55. So far we're up to 4 for the season this year. It'll only get better once the snow starts. Gonna try and get some better vids this year too.
  13. Got these just the other night. Wish he'd take a stroll past my stand.
  14. Red squirrels, chipmunks and blueJays. Hate em all.
