So wait, just so I'm clear on this, I bought a out of state hunting license with a archery and a muzzleloader tag, did not shoot anything in NY this season, so for muzzloader season I can legally shoot 2 buck?

thats one of my questions - is there whoppers back there! ??! And not just the Jonny Brook area, but any/all of the Cannonsville watershed land.... Are there big bucks? What are the deer numbers? I never hear any reports or see any pics from anthing in this area. I'd like to search out some nice rack buck... but i would also like to see deer to keep me interested. or even bear!

Anyone have any experiance hunting it? Looks like some pretty rugged country with lots of huntable land. The Jonny brook area looks pretty interesting. Just looking for any info reagrding the area. May give it a shot for small game in Jan/Feb and do some scouting for next year. Already have my access permits. Thanks! Brian

I hunt Bear Spring quite a bit, it does get crowded with clowns and gets pressure. and lots of road hunting pressure also. But its convienant for me which is why i hunt there. It was very quiet this year, most of the shooting on the surrounding pivate land. Not too many deer like years past. There's some gangs that stay at the campgrounds - man, those boys shoot anything! Once in a while i get lucky with a mountain buck. Have turkey hunted there many times without a gobble. If your looking for big woods solitude, my advice, keep looking. Nice country though
