  1. Ah...... Bourbon, the nectar of the Gods????. Angels Envy and 1792 finished in port make the best damned Manhattan's you'll ever taste. For dinner, Woodford, Knobs Creek, and Makers. Basil Hayden's is excellent over rocks( which incidentally happens to be the first bourbon recipe in the U.S.A). For shots, I have to keep faithful to my old friend Jack????. Buffalo Trace is also excellent neat. I'm over 50 and definitely have a problem????
  2. All my gear is Sitka, best hunting clothing I ever owned. Yes it's expensive, but it wears like Iron and will last a lifetime.
  3. Excalibur Micro 330, Very Rugged bow. I also have the Barnett Vengeance with the Cranking device installed, I liked the balance of a Reverse Draw crossbow, but it's accuracy doesn't compare to the Excalibur. Excalibur is much more rugged, and I tend to be rough on my equipment. Although I never had any problems with the Barnett.
  4. I have used one for three years now and would not go in the woods without it. I'm always amused by the Naysayers who claim it's a gimmick or does not work, yet none of these "experts" have ever used one. We have seven members in our camp and all of us use Ozonics and swear by them. In my opinion it was the best money I ever spent on hunting equipment.
  5. Ive had one for several years and can clearly state that they work, and have never seen deer spoke when using one.
  6. 420 Acres, 30 ladder stands, 2 Hang on, and 1 Box blind.
  7. I used them last year, they leave a pretty impressive wound channel. Downside is that you can't shoot them into a target, as they tend to bend easily and are a pain to remove. I think they will be great on a crossbow.
  8. Couldn't have said it better myself. As I have stated all along, if it brings more people into a dying sport, or allows an older hunter the opportunity to continue to enjoy the sport, I'm all for it.
  9. Ya can't beat the Big Game ladder stands, we have 16 of them in various models. They used to make a stand called the "revolution". The seat has a blind that attaches to it and the blind and seat swivel. We bought 10 of those, unfortunately they quit making them.
  10. I own a Recurve, compound and Crossbow. My bow of choice is the Recurve and I use my crossbow in Ohio and Pennsylvania. In the two fore mentioned states I have seen no adverse effects from using crossbows and have actually seen more hunters come back into the sport because of them. Look around people, we are getting older as a group and the young are not flocking to this sport, If allowing crossbows in New York brings additional people to this sport, or allows a current Hunter to continue on doing what he loves, I don't see a problem with it. We are becoming our own worst enemies with all this in fighting. All you have to do is look toward Albany and see what our elected officials have done recently to understand that we are now a minority. I have hunted for over 50 years, and have hunted all over this great country and have never seen things as bad as this. We need to come together folks.
