I don't see anyone on here talking about this. There is an election for governor of NY coming up this year. This guy is against the Safe act and says he will repeal it. He is for fracking and is a pro business guy. I will be voting for him I had enough of andy boy.

There are many good dogs that never trial. I know a guy with a hunting dog that is great and has never been run in trials. He has bred it to a few females and some of the pups have gone on to be field champs in AKC. A trial is a good way to work dogs in the off season and they can be lots of fun but you have to judge your own dog. Good luck with your breeding.

Upland bird Hunting dogs require a lot of time and training and money. When you hunt with a dog that is steady to wing and shot on wild birds it is a true adventure and pleasure. However hunting seasons are short and I own the dogs all year. Trials are a good way to keep a dog at peak levels and see other dogs out there. It is true that most trial people have given up hunting but many still do. It is true that there is politics involved at some trials and not all judges are good. But no one is getting paid and most are doing the best they can as it is a hobby. That being said a lot of people cant get there dogs to the level it takes to win and then they take the tone that its all fixed or unfair. In the trial game you always loose a way lot more than you win and that does not mean your dog is not a good dog just not the best dog that day, for some that is hard to take as we all know are dogs are the best. I have 4 dogs and I trial a lot and it is fun but I myself and I know many others who feel the same would much rather be hunting wild birds. Sadly wild bird hunting is getting harder and harder to find.

Same thing for me with my camper it has 2 axels and they just charge the toll when I pull it. I never told them I had it. Wait till you see the price of the GW bridge.

I will be doing some bird hunting out of state and it is possible I may get a bird I want mounted. In the past I have brought them to a local guy in the state I was in and while the work was good I had a lot of trouble getting the finished product after the bird and deposit were give over. I had one that took over two years because the guy was to lazy to send it. Anyway if I was to get one and want to bring it home to someone local how should I preserve it. I may have to hold it for as much as 10 or 12 days.

I found some private land around Cameron and I am headed out next week. I have never hunted there and I have never hunted wild quail. I have been looking for a wild quail spot for years that I could hunt on myself without a guide and all the add ons and this seems to be it. I am hoping it is as good as it sounds.

I started to talk about hunting out in Montana this year on another thread and I did not want to hijack the thread so I thought I would post here. I have not been on for a while and some guys have liked my pictures and tales of western bird hunting so I though I would post. This year I breed my dog and we only had 2 pups so I just kept them both and got them started on Sharptail Grouse and Pheasants. They had a ball. These are my pups at a few weeks old This is Sophie the mother it is her 4th year in Montana she loves it. This my pup Winnie A wild pheasant on the road My dog Rosie and me with a Sharptail, Rosies second year in Montana I got this camper this year it was nice stayed 3 weeks in it. Hi Geno, I could not let this go by without a comment, I have been lurking around but have not posted much. I have not hunted NY at all this year and last except for a couple of days duck hunting last year so I don't have much to talk about. I have been hunting birds out in Montana and I am going to Missouri next week for quail.

They are trying to clean up their internet image as it must be taking a toll on the money coming in. I have viewed the craiglist adds and people have been posting responses on there that are very damaging. Some people get deer at the club but most don't go very often and that is the member they love. Some members get special spots and the rest get screwed. Pictures are taken from anyplace and are mostly of deer shot in other places. As for the small game and bird hunting it is a preserve run by the son and if you don't pay him to guide you, you are on the outs and can forget weekends. It could be a good club if it were about hunting but its about money for Bob and east end living for his family. The defenders of the club come out this time every year as the push for shotgun hunters starts. That's a big money maker for them, only one month a year for a nice fee and a lot of those guys are not as intense as bowhunters and they like guys that are not that into it. The problem is that everyone now does internet searches and the real word is out. This thread has been here a long time and Bob would do anything to get it removed. This is another attempt at that. I asked the dec about this and was told I could trap and dispatch them but relocation was a big fine. They never said anything about how to dispose of them.
