Hard to make dry hay with damp ground underneath. Looks like straw, but the second six inches coming up in it greens it. Very little nutritional value. Mow it down and let it rot back into the soil this year. Looked good last week as we had some intermittent rains. Heading up this evening to take a look. We were wet early and planted around the wet spots. End of June, Early July kinda dried out well then perfect rains to finish the corn and kick in the beans. Areas in low lying fields still have water standing in them .First cutting hay still to be made for those that didnt cut before middle of July. Make the first and second together. Corn and soybeans yellowing in the low fields. Honey bees have been working the blossoms regularly, plus a recond number of monarch butterfly sightings this season. Pods have formed on some plants and will be picked for winds indicators the season. Try to get all the stand work done during the winter but definitely have a couple spots that need attention down on the bottom of Letchworth but won’t venture down there till it cools off some.
