I should of left sooner also. Deer were in the food plot and cut me off to my bottom stands. All turned out well and had 2 adult and 4 fawns come by. Great hunt and saw 6 in the field on my way out! They are crunching the acorns!

Beautiful afternoon. Should of left an hour sooner than I did. It can't get anymore " Live From The Woods," than this.

Suffering a catastrophic loss; desivating. Dealing with a business that capitalizes on people's misfortunes for profit using zopholes as an excuse not to compensate, inexcusable. I always say, when the going gets tough, hunt. Great stress reliever. Great confidence builder. Nice pick me up. Here's hoping you do well, Steve D !

Doe down 7:02

A rifle and a handgun, but chose to choke it to death! haha

Unfortunately I now only have access to this forum from my work computer. I use to be able to log in through Tapatalk on my phone but now even that has stopped. I tried resetting my password but with an absentee owner my request never gets fulfilled. Anyways... onto the hunting portion of this story. My daughter and I went out Saturday evening and set up in a log pile to get a jump on where we have been seeing a doe a few evenings a week. The plan worked out and she took her first ever deer in the start of her third season hunting. It was a pretty wild 15-20 min as the doe popped out but offered no shot. We where not in the best of cover so we had to stay as still as possible but you could tell the doe was getting increasingly nervous. I think she could tell something was off but we where just hidden enough and she was up wind from us. She eventually worked up the courage to try and circle around us to get down wind but she didn't even have to get down wind all she had to do is get directly to our left because at that point we are completely exposed. She gets to our left, freezes, starts to stomp her hoof at us then eventually blows and takes off running. Here's the wild part she stops 60 yards away completely broadside just blowing away almost like she saw us but we somehow still had her confused. My daughter acts fast gets the gun on the doe and whispers "I'm shooting" I just simply replied "take it". Her gun goes off and the does front legs tuck into her body while she crashes to the ground and bulldozes and flips for 10 second before dying within site. High fives some hugs and probably a few tears of joy where had. Even though we knew the deer was dead and not moving we sat back down to let it all sink in. After about 10 min I have her get her tag out and start filling it out. At about the 20 min mark we slowly work our way over to the doe, thank her for her sacrifice before taking pictures and getting to work. This is a day neither of us will ever forget and has probably taken over as the best day I've ever had in the woods.

Went to a few of their auctions before they went totally on-line and they were pretty good if you wanted to stay a LONG time. Just like most auctions some stuff goes low and a lot goes high. Last I knew if you are selling a gun you had to meet with an appraiser prior to get an idea of what to expect at auction. Not sure if they still do that or not but have not heard of any complaints about them.

Deer sightings here have really dropped off since ours was sprayed and everything is burned off. There have been a few passing through at night but I am not sure it is because of the spraying or something else:

I have never done any business with them myself but I have seen and heard reports from folks that have both bought and sold that were very satisfied. Give an update on your experience dealing with them. Al

I had 7 turkeys come off the hill and walked across our yard. Quite spectacular since we usually don't have a large population of turkeys here. I have not seen a lot of deer yet. Of course with all the leaves still on, it's not easy to see much of anything.

Nice afternoon in woods. Had a single doe come in around 6:20 behind me. She ran off after a bit. About 20 minutes later a big doe came in with a fawn. They stayed just out of range right in front of me. It got dark and when I got down they spooked and she blew a few times. That was unfortunate. Great to be back in the woods and having that first deer come in!!

Unfortunately Doc I will more than likely be missing my third season. Rebuilding your life from scratch is very tedious and time consuming. It breaks my heart not being able to hunt but one has to set their priorities.
