Harris did capture blue states. Although she won New York, her number were lower than they should have been. She nearly lost New Jersey, which would have been a Hugh upset. Minn. Was closer than it should of been . Wahl on the ticket was suppose to help, but just barely captured his home state of Minn. With the writing on the wall, the last nearly 4 years, Biden Harris have defeated Americans as well as their own party. They have no one to blame, but themselves.3 points

Frankly, I really have no interest in what is happening on the other site. One hunting site is all I have time for, and this is the one I started with and this is the one I will stay with. So what they do over there is really of no concern to me.3 points

Yesterday afternoon, As soon as the thermals dropped, deer moved. My grandson by my side. I doe bleated a 3 year old right up the blow down, blind we were sitting behind. Glad we got the opportunity to experience it together. In all of my deer hunting years, I have never had a 3 year old buck this close to me. He was working his way around the rear of us. I had to move my lite phone back and forth to back him off. I had my bow in hand, and would have shot, if he became to aggressive . Eventually, he walked out of the field. This time of the year, these bucks mean business. Be careful!2 points

Thanks all. Funny story... my granddaughter asked how old I was going to be. I said I'm not telling. But I did tell her that 1950 was a very good year. She seemed puzzled at first , then said holy cow, you are ancient. The truth sometimes hurts.2 points

It was getting rather tough for me to cock my CP Sniper 370 with a rope cocker at my old age . I purchased a Centerpoint Power Draw unit (cranking device) and installed it today .I had my adjustable stock set on One as I am small build . I had to put it on #2 in order to install the mounting clamp . The installation was a breeze . In order to engage the crank assembly , I had to put the adjustable stock on #3 . Once the crossbow is cocked and the crank assembly is removed , I put it back on #2 . It's pretty much of a nuisance to use but less painful for this old guy to cock the bow . I wonder how hard it will be to cock the bow at zero dark thirty !1 point

Gonna hunt one of my favorite spots in PA tomorrow morning. Cruising spot with a scrape that gets pounded this week every year, right at bottom of a hill that sits behind the town. After the rain today and cold front it should be a crazy good sit.1 point

BLACK BEAR INVASION: Headed back to camp last Thursday 10/31 for another 5 days of hunting - Upon my arrival and to my surprise I found the inside of the tent destroyed - The bear's had paid me a visit and certainly left their mark - They busted up 2 tables (contents everywhere) and clawed up the back of my elk tent (canvass) really bad - My propane cooking stove was strewn about but repairable - Had nothing but un-opened can goods on table along with my booze - Had potatoes -onions- and other misc items in a 5gal sealed container but nothing worked - They chewed up cans of beans and soup like it was bubble gum - They even ate my "onions" - and here's the kicker - I had a full bottle of dark rum (plastic container) and found it outside all chewed up so one of them apparently left with a buzz on (HA-HA) and that's the truth -My wood stove was jarred from its location but I built a "safety device" around it so it couldn't be knocked over by someone - or - something - and none of the exhaust pipe was broke or leaked - Thank God for that one -I don't know why but they dragged all the food items through the back of the tent which was now wide open and feasted on my food (and booze) outside - Now you figure this one out - I had a 6 foot step ladder standing directly behind the tent which was dragged about 20 feet from the tent - I know it was the bear's because their tracks were everywhere - BUT WHY ????"Based on the variations in size of the muddy foot prints that were all over the back of the tent my best bet is that it was a sow with 2 cubs - but we'll never know - At any rate I rebuilt the tables and horses and put the back of the canvass tent back together with safety pins and duct tape - then back to the hunt -Ahh the wilderness - Ya gotta love it - What would "Jeremiah" have done - and Bear Claw was nowhere to be found -And like I always say: "Remember it's not about the kill - It's about the Adventure"BLUESMAN1 point

Buddy had two bucks chasing a doe in circles at 10 am here in 7s. to thick for a shot. Ill be in PA Thursday and Friday, I did not realize 12 year old's can crossbow hunt now in NY so I'm buying my son a tag now for sat. I'm gonna make him be patient for a nice one cause were set on meat, I gave my whole buck away to a few families. Have a family lined up for the next deer as well. Very fortunate to have many properties to hunt.1 point

I just got off stand with no luck. I think I will skip the pm stand. The temperature is coming up fast. That's ok. I still have some work to do outside here on the homestead.1 point

Volunteers Needed for "Gut Pile Ecology" Project Are you a deer hunter or know someone who is? DEC is expanding our “Nonlead Ammunition for Eagle Conservation” project during the 2024-25 deer season. The biggest change for this season is that all licensed deer hunters are eligible anywhere in the state where hunting with a firearm is legal. Like last year, we are collecting data on scavenging rates and dynamics at gut piles of harvested deer including how long it takes for scavengers to find them, how long gut piles persist, and differences based on habitat and location. If you are a deer hunter or know deer hunters who would be willing to volunteer to assess “gut pile ecology” please sign up to participate. We’re asking volunteers, during their normal deer hunting activities: to place a trail camera at the gut pile after harvesting and field dressing a deer; to record a small amount of data including location of the gut pile; and whether they have a trail camera they’d be willing to use for this effort. **We have a limited amount of trail cameras that we could loan to volunteers.** We are looking for volunteers throughout the entire state at any time during the 2024-25 deer hunting season. We do not want volunteers to change anything about their normal hunting activity or how they normally would leave a gut pile (this is important for our study to be valid). We are interested in what is happening at these gut piles after they are left on the landscape. More detailed background and instructions will be provided to volunteers after they sign up.1 point

Well, we didn't do too good on the state Proposition #1, however the right person won the presidency, and it looks good for a Republican majority in the house and the Senate.0 points

Sat out in a blind in Mendon this afternoon for 5 hours . It turned out to be a waste of time as I saw nothing . When I got to my car , I looked across the road to a neighbor's field . Saw a couple bucks and several doe . Then as I was driving north on Rt 64 towards Mendon center , a couple cars flashed their lights at me . Just before the Golf Course parking lot , I saw 3 doe in the dithc waiting to cross the road . Bummer !0 points
