  1. I had a spike staring down an 8 ptr on trail cam, always wondered which one backed off first.

  2. I tried my hand in food plots this year. Now I have areas I mow that are in the woods and the deer love it. Nothing invested just mowing. This year we planted. I enjoyed doing for a number of reasons. First to see how good it would turn out, always wanted to be a farmer. Draw in the Does and hopefully a buck will follow. Give them some food for the winter. It's not much but will help a few. Honestly my plots are small and really a waste of time and money but I enjoyed it. Mowing the area keeping the grasses green and does the same. It never once crossed my mind, especially in my area which is heavy in Ag, that I would keep them on my land. These deer cruise everywhere and there is so much food around it wouldn't make a difference. As for trail cameras I love the picts they take but they have never helped me shoot a deer. Trying to remember back when it was spoken word of a big buck in the area, those days are gone. Everything changes. The young guys at my camp are into the plots and high end cameras. That will keep on evolving and drones will soon be the norm. Yes a lot has changed.

  3. My buddy asked me to do a euro on his son’s deer. He wanted a piece of “driftwood” from the property they hunt. I’m pretty pleased with the results overall, although I don’t recommend working with epoxy resin on a log. Extremely difficult to mix, and apply etc. There were too many runs/drips etc, but it is what it is. Thanks for looking

  5. Or we could just let a hunter take the deer he wants when he wants and mind our own business. I notice you like to use possesives when you speak about deer and deer herds... they do not belong to any individual. Planting food plots and setting cameras to surveille bucks was never part of any deer management program... that was a creation of the QDMA. So lets stop pretending that its deer management and call it what it is... trophy buck management. It has done nothing more than create a breed of self serving hunters who show distain for their fellow hunters that choose to hunt a different way and take a different sized legal buck. It, in know way,is related to how good of a steward of conservation one is. Some hunters may not be the magnificent hunter that you seem to think you are... they just enjoy being out in the woods hoping to get lucky enough to see and take the deer of their choice without some "Im a better hunter than you" loud mouth ruining it all for him. I promise you I could tear down everything you think you know about deer management and what you think it is all about, but I'm not the deer hunting police and you wouldn't understand it anyway. I perfer to let you hunt the way you choose as long as it's within the law and leave others to do the same.
