  2. Found this guy running around in the goldenrod field today. I think he was lost and lonely. After our photo shoot, I gave him a lift down to the crick where I've been seeing a turtle-ette sun bathing on a log topless.

  4. What I would love to try would be to run the Accutips in my muzzle loader to see how they do against the SSTs I currently use. I havent found a source for the Accutip bullets though.

  6. I remeber reading about them somewhere as I always find myself online reading (like I am now). I've heard good things, but if I remember there were concerns of actual hunting applications and wether they will do damage. Only one way to find out I always say...

  8. someone has to say it so here goes... The archery club I belong to does not allow crossbows on their property. I personally don't have any problem with crossbows, I believe it will just be a matter of time before they are accepted by all archers. The compound people probably had the same uphill battle 40+ years ago.

  9. So if there are no farms around me then I guess the answer would still be yes I have close to an acre of combined clover mix/chicory, and about another 1/2 with winter rye plots. 3 years ago it was maybe 1/2 acre total. In the woods plots, done with hand tools & a tiller. It's allot of work for an old - older guy. I get my tiller back from the shop this week (rear seals/tune up) and it's time to get some jazz done revamping the clover plots. I finally got the trail passable for the jeep/trailer and can not only save time but get bulk gear & topsoil/fill for expanding & rough leveling. Here's another thing going on, planing to get the property logged. Had a forester up and marked the place. But it was high cut 15 years ago only leaving about 20% value trees today. So, I'm looking into getting a chip-job done at the same time. Might be a little bit of a mess for 1-2 years but I'm thinking in terms for future benefit. More light on the ground, new growth, lanes, plots, etc. Also I have an idea, suppose 3-4 years from now I manage something of an extra acre clearing, I wonder if that would be enough for corn & could I deal with the extra work.

  10. I started out with a cheap ML, and sold it after a year to get something nice. I went with a TC Encore. Its a great gun, and gives you a ton of other options (rifle, shotgun, pistol, ML) with the interchangeable barrel system. Lots of custom stock and other options as well. Prices vary, but you can get a good deal on used ones with some looking around.

  11. Hands down the best overall value is goig to be the CVA Wolf. Opinions vary, but the Wolf will garner the most votes if it were a contest. It's price point vs. features make it a great brush gun to beat around with, a great gun for youth with its smaller frame, a good beginner MZ hunter choice, and accurate enough for a veteran. I own plenty of guns...and I still find time to kill deer with the Wolf. I shot a nice doe last season with mine and it looks like it went through hell.
