  4. Been kinda slow for me lately but I did take a few shots along the way.. This is that other friendly deer I've been following around. A doe crossing the corn field.. I spent some time sitting by the humingbird feeder this morning and got a few shots I liked.... This is a lot tougher than I thought it was gonna be. A little junco in the grass.. A baby grossbeak that left the nest too soon.. And a few flowers I decided to take some pics of to keep in touch with my sensitive side..

  6. Does anybody else's wife/girlfriend/lover think they are crazy about deer hunting? My wife heard me and a couple buddies talking about hunting this fall and what we were doing to get ready. She heard us talking about food plots, stand locations, how many does to shoot, what our expectations were, and so on. After we got home she looked at me and said you're absolutely crazy about deer. You are constantly checking your cameras, looking at deer on the computer, checking out that forum, looking at Cabelas, BPS, and other hunting supply stores. You shoot your bow all the time, you are just nuts. I just laughed a little and said yup, and you married me. If she only knew...

  11. i dont care who you are or what state you live in. There is always good genetics around its how us, as hunters, manage the herd. Meaning let a 2 year old buck walk and wait on a mature deer. even if it means not filling a tag for the year! if you want meat in the freezer, Shoot a doe! theres always plenty of them to go around.

  12. So your 20 years old and haven't got a ticket in 3 years? That's pretty good. Pay the fine & move on..............................................

  13. I'd have a field day with that! Chainsaws, weedwhackers, angle grinders, circular saws, nail gun, bbq grill, Etc. When 7AM hits fire em up! Or just wait til the wind is blowing towards their house and spray some skunk essence, then ask them if they saw the skunk! lol I'm all for being neighborly, but I won't tiptoe for anyone

  17. Mr B warns the guys not to mention hunting to me...they'll never get away...lol The last purse I owned was when I was 20-yrs old.-..it was stolen with the only picture of my diseased mother in it...I've never owned another purse since....shoes are a waste of money...why do ppl drop a bunch of cash...just to get ppl to look at their feet?...and to line someones pockets with money? Now good work boots..hikers or walkers fine..That is foot maintenance... but dress shoes that get worn occasionally.....tan...black..navy..grey...that fit and cheap...is all I care about....

  23. Is 3.5 mature to you? Tough call in my book. While I reference 3.5s as being the line in the sand for NY, I wouldn't consider a 3.5 fully mature. One thing that I am not a fan of, is the term "manage the herd," Quite simply, in a free range scenario, you are not managing the herd. You can manage the land, you can manage the trigger pullers, but you can never "manage the herd."

  24. MP is a bit of a misleading feature. 5MP in one cam may be better than a 8MP in another. If you don't want to spend a ton of money ($500)...then look at MP6 Black, Red 40, or Black 60. I strongly support legit black flash.

  27. The mother-in-law stopped unexpectedly by the recently married couple's house. She rang the doorbell and stepped into the house. She saw her daughter-in-law standing naked by the door. "What are you doing?" she asked. "I'm waiting for my husband to come home from work," the daughter-in-law answered. "But you're naked!" the mother-in-law exclaimed. "This is my love dress," the daughter-in-law explained. "Love dress? But you're naked!" "My husband loves me to wear this dress! It makes him happy and it makes me happy. I would appreciate it if you would leave because he will be home from work any minute." The mother-in-law was tired of all this romantic talk and left. On the way home she thought about the love dress. When she got home she undressed, showered, put on her best perfume and waited by the front door. Finally her husband came home. He walked in and saw her standing naked by the door. "What are you doing?" he asked. "This is my love dress" she replied. "Needs ironing." he said.

  28. Fresh from the shower, a woman stands in front of the mirror, complaining to her husband that her boobs are too small. Instead of characteristically telling her it's not so, he uncharacteristically comes up with a suggestion. "If you want your boobs to grow, then every day take a piece of toilet paper and rub it between them for a few seconds." Willing to try anything, she fetches a piece of toilet paper and stands in front of the mirror, rubbing it between her boobs. How long will this take?" she asked. "They will grow larger over a period of years," the husband replies. she stopped. " Do you really think rubbing a piece of toilet paper between my boobs every day will make my boobs larger over the years?" Without missing a beat he says: "Worked for your ass, didn't it?"

  31. It is NOT illegal to shoot from a boat. Duck hunters do it all the time . It IS illegal to shoot waterfowl from a boat while it is under power from a motor, but as long as the forward motion from the motor has stopped, it is legal to shoot from a motorboat. I would assume the same rules apply for big game. As far as shooting from a vessel that is being paddled, rowed, or sculled, as far as I know, you can blaze away.

  37. I wish that I had your talent. I just got back from Hawaii and took many photos, but they do not have near the quality of yours.. I saw lots of Feral goats and would have loved to get good photos, but with my limited ability, I didn't try. Even when I took photos of the many Mongoose(s) , the pictures came out blurry You are truly talented

  40. Use a bipod or tripod for stability and put the video on the highest speed/quality for more frames per second. That will use more video space but the footage is pristine... Your choice more footage or better quality. Cool video thanks for sharing!

  41. Best of luck to you!!! Looking forward to seeing your video! And I agree any public deer is a trophy, it does not have to be a 150 + class buck or better like on the TV, if you are happy then it is a trophy!!!

  48. I was able to get out to turkey hunt for a few hours this morning with my daughter, and man, was it a great time! The first spot we went to was where I figured the birds were roosting, based on where I had heard them roosting last year. We got in just at dawn and sat for about an hour. We heard some calls coming from the other side of the ravine soon after we got there, and it sounded like they were heading away from us, toward a recently plowed up corn field. I decided to head up to the corner of the plowed field, and we slowly walked that way along the edges of the rye fields. When we were about 100 yards from the corner i wanted to sit in, we heard hens calling, and some gobbling, which got both of us excited. I peered past the hedgerow up ahead, and sure enough, there were birds in the field! We slowly made our way to the hedgerow, as some of the birds were heading away from us. I saw a couple of jakes or toms across the field, and about 6 hens closer to us. We sat down and I started lightly calling. A hen poped up fraom a swail about 35 yards out and hung around picking for bugs for about 15 minutes. I wanted to get around to face a different direction, so I took the opportunity of the birds being gone to move to the next tree over, which gave me a way better view of the field and corner. I started a little light calling and all of a sudden a deer popped out about 30 feet away from us. It was a decent sized buck with about 2 or 3 inches of antler already. He turned toward us and got to within 15 feet before he spotted my daughter when she turned her head. He stood there for a few seconds and took off as another deer popped out where he had come from. 5 minutes later a squirrel hopped up on a tree about 4 feet from us, and sat there looking at us, trying to figure out what we were. Within a couple of minutes after he had left, I heard some rustling behind us and turned to see a big hen about 15 feet away. I told my daughter not to move and as I was trying to see if there were any other birds there, i felt my daughter nudge me. I turned and she whispered "Dad, theres a big coyote right there!" I turned my head and sure enough, there was a big yote crouched down about 15 feet in front of my daughter. I got my gun up off of my lap and it turned and took off. I looked back and the turkey was gone as well. That was about as much as my daughter could take for the morning, so we headed out, stopping to dig out some leeks on the way to the truck. No turkey coming home with us, but the leeks will be great on our homemade pizza tonight, and my daughter got to see her first turkeys and first coyote out in the field. She was more than happy with the morning, and I am happy as well. Some good memories made, and thats what really counts! Hopefully Ill get back to that spot before the season is out.
