  3. That's just wrong, buddy! LOL Yer not from O-o-o-o-o-vid or Lo-o-o-o-odi are ya? Many years ago, 35+ years ago, I was working on my girlfriend's car adjusting the tranny linkage. Jackstands, wheel chocks and all safety precautions in place as I remember. She suddenly screamed, " get away from there!" I rolled out from under the car to see what she was freakin' about, and the car dropped. When I took a look to find out what had happened, one of the chocks had been kicked away from the wheel and the car had twisted off the stands. There was no-one around and I know that I didn't screw up. She told me that her long-dead grandmother who used to own the farm didn't like me for some reason. Very weird stuff! Our relationship didn't last very long after that. Wasn't worth the risk I guess.

  4. Snuck out this morning to do some scouting/photography. Got in close to a huge winter flock but they went the other way onto posted property when they hit the ground. Eventually a few hens drifted back my way and past my blind. They brought their boyfriend, but he wasn't quite as cooperative about having his picture taken. Peek-a-Boo

  6. Congrats NY!!! Sad that a number of vertical guys don't like this and give that disabled/elderly garbage... hey, but it is okay for fit/young people to hunt with shotguns and rifles... look outside the box, crossbows will add people to the hunting side... PERIOD! Also, I have been bow hunting for over 30 years and have taken plenty of newbies out with their vertical bows... I have also taken newbies out with crossbow for their first hunts... what I have found is that crossbows build confidence and success quicker! Successful hunters means more hunters hooked on... hunting! We all win! Congrats!!!

  8. Just got my 2013 bow buck mount from him. My first mount and I am very happy. He did a great job and is a great guy. Thanks Matt. Best of all, I was able to get it on the wall before my wife came home. Too Late! Lol

  9. Headed up today with my BIL to check on house. Been two months since we were up here. Last time there was 2 feet of snow and today it's near 70. Great weather to do some trimming and clearing, setting up blinds and just hang on deck. Sent with Tapatalk on my Samsung Galaxy 4

  10. I had a couple of different contractors at the house today to give quotes for a job and both had a very negative response to my Piebald mount. One was a hunter and the other was not, they both felt that they are to beautiful to shoot and one of them insisted that it is bad luck. So the question is……Would you?

  12. In a way, if you look at how society is becoming dumbed down it makes sense that more and more hunters will want an easier go of it when it comes to weapons... old school just is a bit more work and less desirable these days.. doesn't really bother me as long as I can still do it the old way and they don't try to take that away. Whatever gets hunters in the woods is okay by me. A decline in hunters is way more detrimental to hunting than an added modern weapon or two.

  16. ...No.. However I certainly don't care if the next guy does. If I were to shoot jakes most years my season would be over in the first few days. I'd rather let the jakers walk and hold out for an adult gobbler. If I want to eat turkey, I'd really rather have a Butterball. The two people that have permission to hunt my fiance's property both shot jakes last year. One of the guys is parapelegic and is happy to get a shot at any gobbler. The other guy is from Canada and only has a few days to hunt here, so he generally shoots any legal bird down here.

  21. I shot a piebald a few years back and it deformed feet and lower legs..........I've heard they are genetically inferior and often have some type of deformity.

  23. A month ago, my fiance's grandfather passed at home surrounded by the family and under hospice care. While he was making the transition into the next life, we would sit and talk with him and reassure him that his work was complete and that we would all be ok. While sitting there, I saw a white orb float right above him.

  24. Pity. With thinking like that we'd still have slavery and women could not vote.....if the abolitionism and women's suffrage movements did not have those willing to stand up to bad laws.

  25. Well, first I would take n extra long look to make sure it wasn't some neighbor's goat .... And then I would blow it flat. Would I get it mounted? I don't know. What is a full body mount going for these days? That would be a consideration as to whether it became a full mount or just a head/shoulder mount. Regarding the old wive's tales and the superstitions surrounding these genetic freaks, none of that would come into play. It all has simple genetic explanations, and there is no magic, witchcraft, or hokus-pokus involved.

  29. Went to camp this morning before daylight to listen. Between 5:53-6:03, I counted 48 gobbles!! In 10 freekin' minutes!! They were fired up!! Don't know how many different gobblers were in there, as all the gobbling seemed to be coming from a very small area (~75yards) about 150-200 yards behind the cabin. They gobbled until 6:25. I had to head home at 6:40, so I don't know if they continued late morning or not. Youth season is 2 weeks away!

  30. After they try and take your assault weapons they will say the other weapons are just as bad, justification to take them all. Nope will not affect me? By the time you figure it out it will be too late. Don't let them trample on your rights ever, even if you do not own an assault rifle. Wake up!

  31. my orignal comment was they "dont want you to comply" they don't... i also believe in some sad to say sick way they were waiting for the Newtown tragedy to happen, it was a launching point for an allready prepared/scripted law to gain momentum. don't comply like many others and give them the Legal right to take your arms... smart move

  37. More like a plant attitude. No need for them no one will band together. Sounds like propaganda. Come to my neck of the woods and see how fast people will band together. My group is over 600 strong and we will be together until the end. And that is in the sticks of NY.

  38. There only ar argument is the 2nd amendment. If we start giving in to certain parts of the law saying well an ar is not needed etc, we have lost. In for a penny, in for a pound. There is no compromise on this issue.

  42. If they have no intention of giving up theirs, I'm not giving up mine! They outlawed my firearms, proving they have no respect for me, nor the many decades I've spent in the service of my country and state, or my years in law enforcement and emergency services, which proves I'm no criminal. I've never been convicted of any crime, even a misdemeanor, but since my firearms are now outlawed, I'll become an outlaw if they push me hard enough. If enough firearms owners reject this law, more LEO agencies will stand against it, more of the public will learn why it's a bad law and begin to support us, and Cuomo will be exposed as the little tyrant he really is. Don't go quietly into slavery my friends. Cuomo is counting on us having no balls. Don't prove him right. "If you don't have the troopers and you don't have the sheriffs, who have you got? You've got Andrew Cuomo pounding on the table in Albany."
