Just giving everyone a heads up. I'm working on moving things over to a new server, then upgrading the forum software and enabling SSL (https) for the site. So please be aware there will be a few issues the next few days. If you notice something let me know. Thanks John4 points

Bunny patrol....(who needs a beagle?) Snow day, no school!.... Another day on the job.... Happy Birthday Pup! She's been a great dog and is still in great shape, considering her age. Her ears are poor, eyes fair but her heart and drive are A+.......2 points

3 mornings in a row , I had to put back together and repair a bird feeder . Thought maybe a squirrel was trying to bust it up . Last night I put out a trail cam . I could only put it on a post about 3 feet away . Looked out this am ant the feeder was empty and the suet feeder was gone . Found the suet feeder on the ground 10 feet away . It was still closed but the suet cake was gone . Got pics of the masked intruder .2 points

It's a forum user that works out at a gym but during planting growing season hasn't the time. It's letting ppl know there is a simple inexpensive way to work muscle groups to get you in shape for healthy hunts. Perhaps avoid shoulder injuries. improve core muscles and leg muscles for those that have to drag by hand...with out taking out the time many do not have and money to work out at a gym. those that don't have the room for expensive equipment. I have an elliptical at home for cardio, besides my walking and work...but no room for weights... climbing tree stands...carrying guns, packs.dragging ,gutting deer. not all that easy...working muscles one usually don't .. But if you prefer to think it spam so be it...If one person thinks.... hey I could do that.....and conditions for a safe hunt...all the better...2 points

Thank you, I'm so thankful to be there with him that day to share it all... he actually just looked up to the sky and asked his dad, my grandpa for a little luck on that non active morning and this buck walked through 5 minutes later.. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk2 points

All goats have horns...most get them debudded not long after they are born and the horns begin to show..When we stopped showing them I chose to allow them to grow their horns ...thinking protection. Goats are formidable creatures...especially bucks when they have horns believe me.. So much for that idea. she has 2 dogs and I believe they worked together..for the buck literally had his face taken off..... As far as the dog... well this is a complicated legal thing that ties my hands...and this neighbor has ...some lets say issues of a different sort....2 points

Both are doing really well. Clover and rape germinated after 2 weeks and popping thier heads out. Can see the green clover if you zoom in to pic. Rain has really helped these plots out, prior to these plots going in the soil was very dry. Heres a picture of the larger plot. Pic. is sideways.2 points

BTW, many groups have to back away from supporting Trump to avoid social persecution from the Left, which does not support 1st Amendment rights. But you can bet their votes will be cast for Trump on election day.2 points

So they do whatever unethical or illegal crap they want. If there is any backlash, just say I regret what I did. And it magically just goes away. No consequences what so ever.1 point

Both of my girls have been shooting air rifles since 10 yr old and .22 and .410 since about 15 yr old. At 20 yr old they both occasionally join me at skeet with 20 ga. If you don't come to the table to discuss and craft sensible laws when the people demand them you will be force fed unreasonable and onerous laws.1 point

I looked up who these two clowns are I didn’t know if they were NY legislators or not. There bills at this time won’t even make it out of committee in ether the house or senate. But after Novembers elections they could so everyone needs to vote.1 point

We are seeing more sets of twins than we have in quite some time. Perhaps because of the mild winter? And shooting a few coyotes over the winter may be helping a bit too. But for whatever reason, there seems to be a good crop of fawns this year in our area!1 point

Two very nice bucks!! It's so nice that you have Dad's last buck to add to the memories of all your hunts together. I'm sure that he is very proud of that buck and that you now have it.1 point

I've been reading more and more news articles lately in which "assault" rifles are being considered such solely for being semi auto. I've also seen a few times that a bolt rifle is called a "long range sniper rifle" because it has a scope. The anti crowd is refining their control of the narrative.1 point

From a bachelor: hot for white, cold for colors and warm if you don't want' it to shrink. For the dryer, hot for cottons (whites and heavy jeans (again the shrinkage thing if too hot-then use warm twice)), warm or cool for the good light cotton shirts. If you sometimes live out of the dryer (like I do), get use to using the touch up dryer setting to get the inevitable dampness out. Don't use hot on any new color clothes unless you want the 60's faded look immediately! AND GET USED TO BLUE UNDERWEAR!! ACCIDENTS HAPPEN!!1 point

Dang. Where'd my smoked wings and corn pic go ?? Dang new server for site wiped out pic. Here it is again1 point

The heart rate thing can't be understated...I hunt from elevated positions most of the time...so in order to get the heart pumping I take 3 arrows...and a small 3D to a ladder stand...I estimate how far out the 3D is and shoot the 3 arrows until they are exactly where I want them. BTW I shoot instinctive,no sights,...then climb down and retrieve .... I start at very close and sharp angled out to 40 yrds...Not always do I get the best in 3 shots first try. So as you can imagine this old heart is a pumping be the time I am done...Wear your harness!! I use a quick release and it's no big deal strapping in. The stand I pick has me able to shoot up hill and down hill from the stand.1 point

Having tracked many mature deer in snow I will say that most of them will rub the front of a tree. I don't think I have ever tracked a mature buck that rubbed the back side of a tree. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

Try this with your grilled corn next time. Leave the husk on and grill it, no foil, over charcoal is preferred. Once cooked, skip the butter, and take a lime wedge and drench it in lime juice. Lastly, sprinkle with salt. Had this year's ago at a Mexican picnic and it was fantastic.1 point

The cam scene has been slow lately. Finally, Wannabe ( 5 years old) showed back up twice over the past few mornings. The last pics of him were on 6/10... He's looking good despite the abnormally dry conditions. The frame is set, now comes the tine/beam growth... Looks like he'll have a typical 5x4 frame...good mass...shorter G2's but longer G3's than in '15. I can't wait to see him in another month. July 8th last year... What he turned into...1 point

Do you really think a letter from people in higher education distancing themselves from a Republican candidate is significant? The only one that hasn't been suckling off the political cows teet to garner financial strength and power...Oh boy students and some staff signed a petition. Have you been asleep the last few months? Signing a petition in a realm where students have been allowed to force college presidents out of work, for remarks other people made, that students deemed racial. Not one or two colleges but several...not all were highly publicized and some just took retirement as an appeasement. Want to know what a faculty or any employee signature is worth in such an atmosphere? Probably not. that was a rhetorical question, but I'll tell you anyways ....ZERO,NOTHING, they are of NO VALUE. Just having a student approach a faculty member for a signature is paramount to black mail...1 point

Look up randy newburg on youtube. He gives tons of info on DIY public land elk hunts and hunts that you don't need PP points for. I think he had a break down where somewhere where he showed that you can easily take a DIY elk hunt for less than 2k if you go with someone else. Let me know what you end up doing because I'd love to go on a DIY elk hunt.1 point

It's all good...I have a friend who is a forester and another who works in the woods for one of the largest log buyers in the state, so I am fortunate to be pretty keyed in to logging in the park. I was just trying to make sure that the OP didn't wander on to private property and get himself in hot water. I would love to see the state do selective logging on state lands- it would be a boost for local economies, put more money in the state budget (to be wasted) and provide more food for the animals. No way that will ever happen with the APA in place and I am sure that the state would find a way to mess that up.1 point
