Just to be clear I did not hunt over the apples and pumpkins. Just put them out in front of the camera hoping to see what was left on my property. I know NYS still has a problem with this.

I have to admit, that just looks like a ton of fun! Blasting around at low elevations in a helicopter, shooting fun guns. Crap the only thing missing is a naked girl and then it would check all the boxes for me!

I live in a glass house. I will not throw a stone. I see my own imperfections. And can only try to improve myself. With 44 hunting seasons behind me, I will say my ethics have never wavered. But did I follow the exact letter of the law a time or two during that time? No. I'm not perfect.

You are right. so take the deer that makes you happy and let them take the deer that makes them happy. See how that works. What you want if for them to only take the deer that makes you happy

Live from my basement window... Woke up to my bait pile alarm going off. Jumped out of bed and got the window open, turned my light on and spotted a pair of eyes at the bait pile. Just as I got the kill light on and saw a nice size yote in my scope my dog barked and off the yote went before I got my crosshairs on him. He will be back.

So this year I saw the biggest buck in my life last day of bow season. 1 other person from another camp also saw this deer this year. Nobody reported it shot so I hope he made it. We left camp the third day into muzzleloader season. Before coming up I collected a bunch of pumpkins and semi rotten apples. Changed the cards and batteries in the two cams and spread out the bounty hoping to see if he is still around. I know you are not allowed to do this in NYS but what the hell. Last few days and it might help some critters along. Go ahead and kill me I deserve it! lol

I just trespassed in ahead of you, cut the head off of it and left the rest. I would have taken the backstraps too at least, but had my hands full carrying the two trail cameras I found that someone must've forgotten that they left in the woods.

Its a cheap wireless driveway alarm. It has a battery operated motion sensor that I mounted on a post 20 feet from the pile, then theres a box with a speaker and lights that sits in the house.It works pretty good except when its windy the weeds near the pile blow around and set it off.

Cant complain really. Got a real nice 3+ year old turkey this spring about 40 min into my the first hunt, then I got 4 deer this year. Only complaint I have is I couldn't put down one of the 3 nice bucks I was chasing (all were shot by hunters). This was a year of firsts for me though. Got my first duck, caught many new species of fish I'e always wanted to catch, saw my first coyote in the woods, tied my own fishing lures and actually caught fish with them...etc. Im excited to see what goals i can accomplish for the 2018-2019 season.

I joined this site this year. I am not a member of any other social media. I like alot of your opinions. I do not agree with some of the hunting tactics and things wolc123 says but what i have seen i would bet dollars for doughnuts he would have recovered that deer.

Icefishing at it's most basic level is a very simple and inexpensive sport to get started in.. All you need is a jigging rod, a few ice jigs, something to cut a hole with and a skimmer to keep the hole clean, plus a tube of spikes or waxworms or mousie grubs for bait....Go to a lake or pond that has bluegills, crappies or perch and watch what the other guys are doing...Keep your bait within a foot or two the bottom...You may not fill a bucket, but you'll probably catch enough fish for a meal...Visit with other fishermen...Ice fishermen are generally a friendly bunch and will share info.. From there you may decide to invest in more gear, like portable shelters, fish finders, etc....But you can also fish with the very most basic the rest of your life and still have fun and catch enough fish to keep you fed... One tip.....Light line, small jigs and small baits usually work best for ice fishing...Those panfish are not nearly as aggressive in cold water as they are in the summer....However, the flesh is firmer when they are taken from cold water...In my opinion, few fish are as succulent as panfish taken through the ice..

Go out on some local spots where you see some ice fishing going on. Walk around and see what they are doing and using. Ask questions too! I've talked to many newbies out on the ice over the years. Always offered my stuff to use and how to do it. And would usually give something away. If you will be around the Albany area, shoot me a pm. I've got everything needed for a day on the ice. You will be good to go on your own after that.

Been doing Trad strings for a long time and do some compound as well. Hardest part of doing the compound ones is getting accurate specs for the serving lengths and loop sizes. Belong to a great group of builders that readily share info so most are doable.

The farmer down the road filled my truck bed with pumpkins for 5 bucks and me and my buddies shoot them and leave them in the field. I'm a terrible person!

Funny story. I was hunting Moose River in the snow and was suppose to pick up my buddy Shawn at this bridge area after dark. I get to a spot early in the AM and about a hour or so after first light I see this Doe come charging through the area but she is going back and forth for some reason? I thought it was strange but that she might be trying to dodge a buck or lose a predator. About 10 minutes later I see a hunter trudging through the area right on her track, all I could do was laugh as this area has no doe tags. I pick my buddy up at dark and he tells me about an old man and his son and how they are tracking a BIG ONE and "if he sees it, you know. (It's our deer, your not allowed to shoot him!) lol was a bit pissed off someone would tell another hunter not to shoot a buck they are tracking but then realized it was the same guy tracking the doe!

one thing I forgot that i found a little odd was that he was really good at wearing orange vest or jacket and hat all gun. Then in late season he was ground hunting in all camo. Now I'm not worried about me, but this guy doesn't know any of the neighbors either. Like dude, just because YOU are bowhunting doesn't mean everyone else is.

If he has the tags for them, he can kill any damned sized deer he wants quite honestly. If you don't like it, that's your problem not his. Some of you clowns really do have a set of nads knocking someone for killing a deer that he has every right to kill if he so desires. He, myself and others may suck as hunters, but at least we don't suck as much as some of you clowns who have no class or character.

Takes me back when I was younger and I was hunting on Public land near Syracuse, I came across a hunter who was following tracks in the snow and noticed this hunter had a gun that cost more than my truck and a scope that could see a deer a mile away, he said he was following the biggest set of deer tracks he had ever seen, the deer must be well over 200lbs he said, I didn't have the heart to tell them he was following rabbit tracks,,,,,,lol
