  1. Thanks to a great deal through the Real TC III I have a new to me left handed bow. (Mathews Derenalin) Today, I went to Wildwood Archery near Syracuse and the owner helped me set it up with the rest and sight. He gave me some very basic instuction and I shot my first ever arrow at a target from 15 feet away. I actually hit the board! Ha ha. Someone else there was also a lefty and he let me use his bow (a Bowtech) from the 20 yard range, and I actually hit the dam target again, a little low and left, but I hit it very close to where I was aiming. Pretty happy with my very first attempts. I plan to head back Monday evening when they are open to try a few more arrows. All new and everything is strange. Almost like learning a new language. 5. Cooper has been back since Christmas and has been doing great with what he has learned so far. Doing basic drills when snow and temps allow. Needs to work on his steadiness but marks and retrieving are fantastic. Bringing bumpers back to heel is good but still very puppy at 9 months now.

  14. You don't have to be of any particular ideology at all, but it helps to be an analytical thinker that doesn't advocate giving up your rights and freedoms with the misguided hope things will be solved. You have to expect criticism and rebuttal when your beliefs are really far to the left of the Constitution, adversely affecting freedom and liberty. It might help to start thinking why it is common for the government to demand we sacrifice our rights and liberties every time some crisis occurs, especially when the problem is not solved and the government's purposes are beneficent. The Constitution was written to restrict the power of the government. It has every motive to undermine that document as much as it can get away with. People who are lulled into a sense of security by the siren song of government, need to be warned. It would not surprise me if much of the anarchy we see today is intentionally caused by the government. I feel one must respond to calls requesting we give up freedoms and rights, especially when the chances of solving the problem are zero. I also welcome an intelligent debate on any subject if the other side can stick to facts supporting their case and do it while remaining civil. Sometimes I find it hard to do myself, but that should be the goal. It is reasonable for Americans to be wary of policy proposals that would likely be ineffective, yet would negate our most precious individual rights.

  17. People who do not understand rights, or the US Constitution, need to be educated about the evils of taking them away. Too bad they would rather listen to the people who are trying to take them away. "The government may not descend to the evil of preventive law. The government cannot treat men as guilty until they have proven themselves to be, for the moment, innocent. No law can require the individual to prove that he won't violate another's rights, in the absence of evidence that he is going to. But this is precisely what gun control laws do. Gun control laws use force against the individual in the absence of any specific evidence that he is about to commit a crime. They say to the rational, responsible gun owner: you may not have or carry a gun because others have used them irrationally or irresponsibly. Thus, preventive law sacrifices the rational and responsible to the irrational and irresponsible. This is unjust and intolerable. The government may coercively intervene only when there is an objective threat that someone is going to use force." Harvey Binswanger

  18. Joe Dan Gorman (Intellectual Froglegs) said it best: "You want to have an intelligent discussion about gun control? Okay, let me start. You will never, ever, ever take away my right to own guns. Your turn."

  20. Since fox season has come to a close, I thought I would share our success this year. We hunt Broome and Tioga counties. Between the heavy winds and my hunting partner and I trading off sicknesses all season, we only got to hunt 15 nights for fox. However, we’ve seen fox every night we’ve gone and have gotten multiple doubles this year. I’m thinking I finally got the hang of calling in fox! It’s also worth noting that we only call 2-3 stands a night. The last two months, we’ve only called one pair of fox in with prey distress sounds; the rest of the fox were all called in using fox distress. You’ll notice we killed mostly greys.... a lot of which were in “red fox rich” locations. I do all the calling and my hunting partner loves to pick on me, saying that I could go to the red fox capital of the world and be the only one to call in all greys! 23. Where and from what did that start ? Do you really believe that something can come from nothing ? That takes a lot more imagination than a simple belief in a Divine Creator (aka God). It is no wonder that 70.6 % of this country currently identifies itself as Christian. Even the famous discoverer of the "theory of relativity" eventually accepted this Gospel truth. Most of us lack your level of imagination. My prayers go out to all who were affected by this latest shooting tragedy. We can all take comfort in the fact that Evil has never and will never Triumph over Good. The Divine Creator Himself always makes sure of that.

  25. I have a few solutions: Stop normalizing violence as a solution to every problem, particularly gun violence. It seems to be held up as 'the solution' in nearly every movie or video game out there. It's the entire basis of the entertainment industry. Stop the attack on Christian values. Belief in God and the power of prayer was stitched into our nation's founding. It's being systematically destroyed. It doesn't need to be adopted by everyone, but it should be respected by every American. Bring the Pledge of Allegiance back into the schools. A sense of patriotism is important among the youth. Reintroduce the "Civics" class in schools so that kids can learn what the U.S. Constitution is all about. Restrict the age of social media use to those over 18 years of age so that it isn't so detrimental to the development of children. These are just a few, but I could certainly go on... These are issues that have been created by the Leftists, and any solution to these issues will be violently opposed by the leftists. That's why there is no easy solution.

  27. Not yet... If someone proposes gun control legislation that may have prevented any of these tragedies, I'll be all ears. But it's not the guns. It's the people, the society , and the culture. The guns are just an overly simplistic way to get people agitated so that they ignore the real issues which are exceedingly difficult to address, primarily because they were caused by the people now calling for more "gun control".

  29. Where the heck did this guy come from? He's on a hunting site spewing all of the leftist talking points aimed at taking away his rights. Not just 2nd Amendment and hunting rights, ALL of his rights. He seems to be OK with "giving up" his rights though. He is a prime example of the kids I mentioned who have been indoctrinated, rather than educated, and lack the ability to think for themselves. If he's older than 30, he's a fool that needs to grow up. I'm not even going into a point by point rebuttal of all of these leftist talking points because it's obvious his mind is closed and his emotions rule his brain.

  30. Laws save lives? There are all ready laws. About time the current ones are enforced before more are passed. Really murder is against the law but that didn't stop the shooting. IMO more gun laws won't niether.

  37. Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. Fun little definition of insanity, but has a powerful ring of truth when one looks at the long history of gun laws and their actual effectiveness. So how long are these mental midgets going to keep clinging to this same mentality of insane repetition of piling gun law after gun law, each time declaring success and never realizing that they have really done nothing?

  42. I would give up social media, over publicized murders, graphic movies and video games for example before I gave up my gun rights. Everytime there is a mass murder publicized the next one wants to out due the previous one. I can turn on the news and see violent protest in other countries, and sometime ours. I can go to the movies and see the most grotesque things that a mind can imagine. I can go buy a video game that the winner is who kills the most people, and very graphic. Then we all sit around and wonder how these things occur. Huh, I wonder. I can give up those things first. What are you willing to give up?
