Meet Dutch, our new DD puppy that we got yesterday! My wife and I couldn't be more excited. I've raised one of these before and was amazed at how smart they were, so I promised myself i'd get my own once I got my own house. What better day to hang with the new pup then on a snow day! Some pics below! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk12 points

As of now, 4 or 5 inches. But it's just playing with us now. Around noontime it's going to really ramp up, and snow 2+ inches an hour, until tomorrow morning some time. We are in the 24 to 36 band here. On top of the almost 30" on Friday. I say....bring it! I'll deal with whatever it is. This ain't my first rodeo. But certainly is a PITA.5 points

Sorry to celebrate with so many without power but snow days to teachers are like sugar to a baby or the Goat to a TF. Snow days that are announced at 5:00 pm the day before are extra special! Stay safe for those who are out and about. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk3 points

I just left walmart a couple hours ago, went with the girlfriend to pick up a new eliptical machine she had shipped to store. The guy who wheeled it out "for us" made me furious! We had to wait for him to finish chit chatting with his trash friends, then had to say "its us, are you coming?" To be ignored, so I said screw it, and we started walking out to the vehicle. Again, we wait for him by the entrance now, because I knew he would lose sight of us...now im pi***d. So i finally see the cart rounding the bend, and we get the vehicle, because obviously he wasn't going to follow us. So I pull up a car length l, or two away from the main entrance...hes standing there in FRONT of those main doors, on his cell phone! So i beeped the horn, he looked over at me, and went back to his text! So i yelled over, and said "lets go, I don't have all night!" So he walks it over finally, and of course I look like the jerk to the rest of the parking lot. He brings it over, and says nothing, and lifted half of the eliptical box with me, like he was about to die!, zero effort, and just obnoxious. So i said right to him, "you going to be alright pushing that cart back? He looked at me said NOTHING, gave me an "ef u" look, so I said "you got that ok?" He wanted to murder me. I just don't understand the mentality anymore, I was so mad, I found the manager, and told her, how he does not belong in the public eye with that attitude, and mentality. I told her how if someone couldnt handle themselves they will drag his butt aside, and knock him out. I usually, brush things aside like this, but he knew how to push buttons. I told the manager how he expected me to park in the crosswalk, and expected the shoppers to walk around my vehicle, as if my box was more important, and to create an inconvenience for everyone else. I figured this ties in with your WTH is wrong with people.3 points

I know right lol. Thanks! I actually plow roads for a township. So its sort of a double edge sword. I plow from the start of the storm until its over, then it takes us a good 4-6 hrs after the last snowflakes fall to clean up, to where we can go home. I then have an hour commute to my 300ft driveway that I snowblow. Not complaining, or looking for a oh wow you have it rough, because I dont. I am just saying, I really dread snow, but love the paycheck on Friday. I am just so thankful the powers back on, my girlfriend is here for the storm again, and I taught her how to start/stop the generator, refuel it, and so forth. I was worried she woukd have to be here in the dark for 2 days dealing with the refueling, and hooking up the fridge, and pellet stove. Point is, there is A LOT off my plate, and hers now. We live an hour from both our parents, in a mountainous area, and don't really have neighbors, havent even met them. So she's alone. Kind of a relief rant xd. Good luck Biz, we are expecting 12-24" here, hope you keep power, fortunately light wind for us up here.3 points

Nice. Fantastic dogs. Mine is the most persistent dog I've ever seen. He's my best buddy but he almost cost me my marriage with his antics between age 6 months and two years! He couldn't not be contained in any sort of fence in the yard. He would dig under or crawl over most anything. He finally mellowed out at age four, at age five now and with a younger lab around he has turned into a couch potato.2 points

I have a feeling this thread will become long. Rob! How about we rename this thread "counseling without a copay" ?? A place to let off steam in a censored text. Lol2 points

Students were all sent home early. Now all the school offices will be closed at 1pm. So looks like I'll get an early jump to staying on top of this latest batch of frozen precipitation! Will be fine, as long as the machines and my body parts hold up!...............grin.2 points

By what I have been seeing here I don't know if some of these people could handle a WNY./Buffalo winter. We can go form no snow to 6 feet in a matter of hours, have it melt & then do it all over again in the next week all winter long. But I to hate snow I always said we need 1-3" for deer season & the same for X-Mas day then be done with it! Back in the "70's" when I was snowmobiling I use to pray for snow but I was 30+ yrs. younger & must have been crazy back then!2 points

Thank's Biz!The snow is no issue as long as the winds don't get crazy again but if I loose power again I'm all set got my pasta sauce cooking and a case of beer.Be safe yourself2 points

First of all you are responding to a post that is 5yrs. old. Hunting on state land is not going to solve the problem because it is not unusual for a coyote to cover 8-10 miles during a chase and may very well end up on private land. Most coyote hunters are responsible and make every attempt to obtain permission for the areas they hunt and it is not a common practice to "free cast". That being said it is unlikely that most hunters would be able to obtain permission from every landowner in a 8-10 mile radius. You can't stop a dog from doing what it is bred to do and it can be very difficult to stop a dog from running a coyote on property his owner does not have permission for. Most hunters will not pursue their dogs on property they do not have permission for and will attempt to catch it when it comes out on a nearby rd. or area they have permission. While I have heard both sides of the argument I don't believe the "Supreme Court" will be the one to settle it. The only way to completely stop it would be to make coyote hunting with hounds illegal. Landowners are people and coyote hunters are people. When people talk to each other; problems can get resolved but in today's world everybody wants to stop what the other is doing or wanting without taking the time to understand each other and compromise. Lighten up and try to understand BOTH sides of the issue.2 points

All but one of my 20+ camera traps are homebrews, some have been out in the woods continuously for at least six years with no problems. They take better photos than any commercial cameras I've seen and, for the few that have had problems, I have been able to fix them myself. Although I've never kept track, I don't think any have cost me more than $100 to build. By the way, I started all this when I was completely illiterate about electronics. All of those cameras have been run on rechargable batteries so, other than the initial purchase, the cameras cost pennies a year to operate -- just recharged a set I bought in 2010, they're still going strong. There are two suppliers of parts for homebrews: http://rcdavisgamecamerasolutions.weebly.com/ http://www.snapshotsniper.com/2 points
