  1. I didn't realize the spider legs would get so lost in the web design, but once you notice them there's no mistaking. I may need to get some painting pointers from the Moogster to make the spidey pop, lol! Probably the only fisher skull I'll ever get my hands on unfortunately. Cool little heads to mess with! Possum and coon up next!

  4. After what seems like forever my pond was finally started this week. After digging for a few hours the builder called me and said he hit solid rock about 5 feet down. After talking it through with him we decided to keep digging the whole surface area I wanted and come back later this year with a rock hammer on his shovel to dig out the rock to put in the deep holes I wanted. He said ponds made in rock like this are typically really clear, cold and fairly weed free.

  7. Nice! If you can go at least 15 ft, a rock pond will sustain trout. My grandfather had one on the farm. Caught my first trout out of it, with him laughing, along side of me. One of my earliest, and best memories.

  17. We are talking about expensive leupold scope knock offs. And the point is, we shouldn’t support pirates of American products or any pirated products for that matter. There is a huge difference between cheap products and pirated products. I hope you can see that. Carry on with your posting.

  20. You must be in a limestone area..here 5ft and rock = no pond.. it's all shale and water drains.. You need 7 to 8 ft to over winter fish unless you have flow of water.. a half acre pond ( average depth of 4 ft. can only support 120 to 160 lbs of fish. Which will let you take about 60 lbs of fish out a year example: 40-50 lbs of panfish, and 10 to 15lbs of bass. Do not over stock the pond !! Be smart a d start with crabs and minnows and snails you will never have a weed problem if you do. (And will never need a grass carp) stocking rates for predator prey should be close to harvest per year .. so 40 to 50 feeder fish ( panfish, perch) to 10 to 15 predator(bass, walleye) trout should be exclusive and only if the pond stays cold enough for them.

  30. The first few years hunting Ohio we experienced alot of people trespassing onto property that we spent about $35 an acre to lease . Most of there reasoning was they felt like hunting the property was a privilege to them because they had hunted there before. i nicely try to explain that instead of getting mad at us get mad at the coal mine company leasing the land . In new york state a few years ago we leased a peice of property located next to the farm we hunt. shortly after the gentlemen who leased it to us called upset saying that he received a phone call from neighboring property owners that we were shooting deer quartering them and dumping them on someone else property shooting deer from the road . hunting at night etc. Now that being said . Do i believe that this happens sometimes . without a doubt unfortunately we live in a world of good and bad. But every year there seems to be an issue . Do i think it has to do with the fact that we are out of state hunters yes. could i be wrong yes. but i can assure you myself as a hunter has the upmost respect for the woods and i never take more then i need . and the amount i enjoy hunting i would never intentionally risk loosing that privilege or creating a bad name for us.

  40. How do you feel about the elimination of draw weight and minimum width restrictions, which I hear is also included in the current bill ? I would prefer that they be left in. I have done ok with a crossbow, which meets the current restrictions, and I am happy with a maximum range of about 50 yards. I definitely would not shoot further than that today, with my current equipment, because I learned that it does not provide enough penetration beyond that. I bought a laser range finder 3 years ago, and I now have all my stands and blinds flagged out to 50 yards, to make sure of that. I think having those restrictions prevents "too much" escalation of technology. By that, I mean that it helps keep "archery hunting" a short range game. That is a good thing, because there is a lot more to be learned from the sport by getting closer to the deer. A selfish reason that I have, for leaving those restrictions in, is that they put limits on any temptation for me to spend money on upgrading my current equipment. I really don't want to do that, because it has been 100% successful at putting deer down within 40 yards. That even includes the first one, where I underestimated the yardage and only had 8" of penetration at 59 yards.
