  1. I hope all the Fathers here have a great day. I'll be spending the day with my father & father in law and consider myself fortunate. If your father has passed, I hope you can conjure up some good memories of him. If you & your father can't be together today, give him a call. If having a picnic; don't eat raw burgers and stay hydrated.......

  3. Happy Father’s Day to all you fathers , to your father’s and father’s fathers. Sister just messaged me from Scotland. She just spread our folks cremains at the isle of Skye in Scotland near a bench overlooking Kilted rock and water fall. Mom n Pop had been there a couple of times , we named our daughters middle name Skye as they both said most beautiful place they’ve ever been. We had no idea if boy or girl and no middle name picked out for either. Only been a couple of months after losing them both in a short span. Today and Mother’s Day pretty rough Cherish every moment with your family as you never know what tomorrow brings. Happy Father’s Day Pop. Wish we could go fishing tonight as we always did on Father’s Day Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  33. For Father's Day dinner with my daughter, I cooked up some garlic & pepper venison brats. First, I simmered the brats in a pot with Ommegang Barrel-Aged Three Philosiphers. Then, I wrapped them in bacon, covered in brown sugar and finished cooking in the oven. Damn tasty! She dipped hers in maple syrup and that was actually pretty good too!

  41. I've had many opportunities to kill big bear on our property over the years, but just never pulled the trigger or released the arrow. Every year I say maybe I'll shoot one if I get a good shot. But never do. IDK, I really haven't cared for the bear meat I have tried. And don't really want to kill a bear just for his hide. Or to say that I kilked one. But who knows, maybe this year???

  45. Years ago down in Steuben county we had a corn plot a big bear like that one was terrorizing. One night after too many Milwaukee's best my uncle had enough when we could hear him out in the plot. I had a camera set up in the plot and got pics that night of the bear exiting the plot followed by my uncle one minute later banging two frying pans together. My aunt had those pics up on the fridge for years! Your pic of that big bear reminded of that.

  46. Went out on Thursday to the willowemoc and a the beaverkill. I tried wets and nymphs, but I couldn’t manage anything so I switched between different drys. I finally found the right dry and caught about 8 or 9 Browns. First time dry fly fishing so it was pretty cool to catch them on top. I learned a lot that day. All the fish were around 12” but I did see some 18”+ fish on the beaverkill. I only casted to one of them before I had to leave and couldn’t get it to take. I did get one big hit on the soft hackles, but dries were the key. I’ll need to drop some cash on some more dries. I’ll take any suggestions on what I should get. I’m thinking some BWO, adams in different sizes and some more sulphurs. All but 2 were released. All are different fish. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  47. Not to derail the thread but the wife and I tent camp most of the time. the past few years we've stayed in a rented cabin with all the necessities. tents are just to cold in October! I understand the need for a camper and everyone has their own personal preferences. Each to his own. I personally am not going to purchase a monster truck to drive all year long only to use it to pull a second house a couple times a year. Although they are are nice. I keep everything we usually need pre -packed in bins in my garage so packing for a weekend doesn't take long. Just food and clothes. I'll admit it takes time to set up camp, but once it's done it's quite comfortable. We have a queen size travel bed so we're not sleeping on the ground. I can trailer my scooters for day rides and I have my truck for rainy days. The large tarp keeps everything nice and dry, including the bikes. Plus it gives you a nice sized outside kitchen out of the weather.
