Went through the stands I have at home and got them loaded up in the side by side to start hanging this week. I have a ladder and 2 hang ons for a double set. I’m going to go grab a few stands off of one of the farms that I domy hunt much anymore as well. I’d like to have 5 or 6 sets in this year to start. I’ll adjust and add others after the season depending on what patterns I see while I hunt this season.7 points

Hate to burst the fake news bubble, but it's been perfectly legal to craft a homemade firearm since our country was born. Even the more recently popular 80% lowers are legal. To require homemade firearms to be regulated would give government the ultimate power to disarm its citizens. Personally, I could never support that. The reality is that the gun-grabbing liberals don't want to admit their utter failures in Democrat stronghold cities like Chicago, Baltimore, etc. Their restrictive gun control laws haven't curbed any of the gang violence! Gangs easily buy cheap guns without any need to try manufacturing them. That juice just isn't worth the squeeze. Furthermore, all of this noise is a merely an attempt to smokescreen the real WIN from the 3D printing settlement: The DOJ admits that semi-automatic rifles including the AR-15 are NOT INHERENTLY MILITARY WEAPONS! Put that in your gun-grabbing pipe and smoke it!! You can bet your sweet a$$ this admission will be argued in future 2A cases that go before SCOTUS.5 points

You can already buy receiver parts to make a serial number free gun. unfinished AR and AK sheetmetal I have 2 Mausers with no numbers, and actual made one up so I could take one on a hunt so I could get a customs form; used the licence plate off my old truck. LOL There are plans on line already for machined ways to make a firearm and its perfectly legal to do so, but you cannot become a manufacturer and sell them. Go to 'Home Shop Machinist' a recognized national magazine in multiple detailed instructions. There is a sizeable group that do these. Criminals are just going to buy access to a street corner gun and not buy a 3D printer or a milling machine. Why? Its stupid easy to get a handgun in any city for stupid cheap.4 points

You guys do realize that these are not complete guns right? Most of what you are hearing on the news is nothing but scare tactics and nonsense. https://www.popularmechanics.com/military/weapons/a22604405/3d-printed-guns/3 points

in the farming community the choice to go to no-till is based on cost savings. you burn less fuel, no longer need a tractor with more HP required for plowing, and a bigger one in my mind is you don't have to pick rocks. you work a field deep only the first time when it's sod. for my whole life time i've seen plantings grow plenty well enough without no-till. i'm with stubborn1vt when we should be more concerned about all the chemicals we use than tilling up dirt too much. that's the reason we have all these issues like gluten free needs, celiac, and others.3 points

Any thoughts on this? I know its been around for a while and people can make ARs with just a bit of knowledge from parts sold on the internet ( or other methods of gun making). As much as I am pro second amendment, not sure I want just anyone to be able to print a working gun in their basement. I assume most on this site would be in support of the group seeking to post specs, but I doubt the wisdom of doing so.2 points

Finished with my projects for the day and now time for a beer with my buddy. Or my girlfriend as my wife refers to her as. I know for sure which one of them would be happy to see me after being locked in the back of my truck for a few hours. Stone West Coast IPA. A go to on a good day of work.2 points

Funny after all these years I have never once had a problem getting license or tags for me or my son at any store or online. Also never had any issue ever reporting a deer online. Now that said I have personally lost my license more than once lol.2 points

Having sat through the firearms and bow classes with my grandson, a couple years ago, I was glad, I sat through the "refresher course" myself!! After almost 50 years of hunting for me, I still learned some things, and heard some great points I had forgotten! You can never be TOO SAFE!! Most hunting accidents, happen to the experienced hunters, not the newbies! I highly recommend anyone that has hunted for a LONG time, to sit through a course with a kid, or new hunter, as a mentor! The course consists of a total review, of the online homework. Could the online part be enough to get a new hunter started? Yes. But, will it be better than a hands on course? No way. Especially for the hunter who does not have other hunters in the family or a mentor to actually show safety techniques. I can't speak for all instructors, or places where the courses are held, but these guys (volunteers) at Woodlawn Sportsmans Club, were simply AWESOME! So much so, that I joined the club. And this September, for the first time, I will be a volunteer instructor as well. These guys have real hands on things, like all different types firearms, and how they operate. Real treestands, hung on a tree, to demonstrate treestand safety. A real bloodline to observe and follow. Actual shooting at clay birds and livefire 22LR. How to safely carry, transport, load, and care for a firearm, or bow, again hands on. Also the wealth of hundreds of years of combined experience, to share with new hunters, in my opinion is invaluable. Hey, I try to stay up with the times. Online is GREAT, and so easy and convenient. But sometimes, for some things, hands on, eye to eye instruction, by a team of experienced instructors, "could" be more beneficial. JMO.2 points

Great little stroll through the woods tonight. First time really getting into boletes. I found some with a friend the other day and he cooked them up and fed them to me, they were really delicious so I found some of my own. I ate the chickens for dinner tonight, been awhile since I had them fresh. Good looking for chanterelles, found one or two old ones, but didn't spot any others even in the area I found a bunch of them last year. Sent from my Moto G (5) Plus using Tapatalk2 points

I'd kill every one I could if they were in season.... However since I never do anything illegal, I'd suggest waiting until September and THEN kill every one you can....Hehehe... I'd also suggest enlisting the help of a good trapper.. He would probably kill more 'yotes in a season than you would in several years just hunting them or shooting them as targets of opportunity..2 points

Not for tonight but I was inspired by someone from here and decided to attempt venison corned beef(?!?) or is it just “corned venison”? This is the process I am following and just put two roasts in the brine. https://honest-food.net/corned-venison-recipe/ We shall see...probably Saturday... how I like it Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk2 points
