  1. Ok ok ok......you guilted me into it. Got a new treestand harness and tree straps. I will admit I haven't been using them. I only hunt ladder stands and have felt pretty secure. But after this summer cutting myself to get stitches and braking toes for not being careful enough, figured better safety it up this fall. And with your constant nagging about safety on this site I gave in . Good God! Lol Seriously! All kidding aside , thanks for the push I am sure I will feel safer in the tree and for the amount I spent it certainly makes sense. So bought a new more comfortable tree harness and a bunch of straps to leave in tree for the season to hook to. And since none of you are in my will, I guess I should take good advice. Cause you never know. Thanks Folks. Here's to a safe hunting season for us all.

  2. Downwind deer, will smell you regardless of what you may, or may not have on your clothes. Nothing we can put on, to completely mask our "human" scent. If a deer is going to smell you anyways from downwind, probably better to not have ticks chowing on you, while the deer runs off.

  17. Permethrin is a natural substance found in nature, has that scent ever caused a deer to know I was present? All the deer I ask say no, lol. Honestly I would not worry as much about getting winded using this as I would be worried about ticks getting on me if I did not use this. Simply put I will not enter highly infested tick area's without this protection!

  19. As much as it hurt I had to run into dicks to get my dmp’s on my way back from leaving them a rather large present in the men’s room I came across this fella toting a hundred pounds of deer corn on his buggy. I long ago stopped giving a crap what other people do but I don’t know if it takes a huge set of nuts to do this or just a total lack of give a F*ck to walk through a store flaunting to everyone that you’re cheating. 21. I would like to make one suggestion that may aid in the survival of your trees. Get a roll of 4' high welded wire and build 4' or 5' diameter cages to put around them. This will avoid any deer damage (eating or rubbing) and also provide support if the snow should begin to bend them over. You will find the prices pretty reasonable at stores like Tractor Supply. And a roll goes quite a ways. I do that with all of any fruit trees that I plant, and have never had any damage to any of them.

  22. This one hasn't even been reported missing by the owner. Good luck to him prosecuting a claim if its killed by a hunter. Heck some hunters might not be aware at least initially that its not a whitetail. Now if you know the farm where it was raised like TC did, reporting it to the owner and letting it run is the right thing to do. IMHO.

To be 1000% honest, she deserves it and it was all arranged by her friend’s work before I was asked. I just said yes because it’s rare she says no to any of my antics. I figure I will take advantage of the “summer” patterns in early Oct and wrap up my victory of the 2018 Contest by the 28th!!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  31. I've been doing this about 30 years......when I started I had a neighbor that never did anything but buy corn to pour in a spot his entire hunting career from post WW2 to the 90's. And everyone of his buddies did the same including at the hunting shack in the ADK's. Fun to think about the good ol' days; but guys have been piling apples and corn for longer than just recent when Tractor Supply came to town. I'm not inclined and why I was never much interested in his camp.

  37. Lots easier to just carry 20' of paracord with a loop on one end and caribiner on the other. Loop one end around your wrist and other on the bow. Pull up when you finish climbing. Those permanently attached tow ropes always seem to get blown around and stuck in places in the wind, not to mention the possible breakage. IMHO.

  38. The FBI has investigated Kavanaugh six times for various positions in the federal government, including his current position as a life-tenured federal appellate court judge. In none of those six investigations has an allegation about assault turned up. Should they investigate again, what would they learn? They would learn that a Bernie Sanders donor who's sympathetic to left wing politics is now accusing a potential Supreme Court pick of sexual assault but has no witnesses and cannot remember the year or location of the assault. Of those she names as witnesses, they all deny it. This is not her word versus Kavanaugh's. It is her word versus that of everyone she has named as potential witnesses.
