Missed one and got one!

I shot and cleaned my first pheasant woohoo .

Perfect wind and set up. Saw a dandy 8pt 100 yards away coming in. Just need a little luck!

so my nephew just got his licence the other day never really showed an interest in hunting til a few weeks ago. at 1025 this am he took. his 1st game ever! oh and i was able to get a doe as well..

This was her most of the morning until that go showed nd then her head was on a swivel until we got down. She said shes hooked now. Thank you miss doe that came through.

So started at first light. Short break and moved into acorn stand. Just at magic hour of afternoon I see/ hear storm rolling in. Check radar , no phone reception, no texts going through. Hmm, I’ll take my chance. It’s getting really deery now , barely a breeze , raining acorns. Then in seconds the sky is black and winds start whipping. Lower bow , climb down. Get text severe thunderstorms approaching and I better skedaddle. Oh boy now it’s rumbling overhead hard. Try to boogie across field and thunder rips overhead loud with lightning I swear I was dead. Biggest shout of f me ever. I quick jump into a box blind for 10 minutes. This scared the crud out me. Meandering back to the car I get soaked. Get to car and sun comes out. Fields covered in deer on way home. Just before the winds picked up the flock of 30 or so turkeys came out of the woods and one hen rolled into assembly call seconds before all he’ll broke lose. Fun times. No deer seen. Had one stomping at dawn then blew. Drying gear once again.

Going up to wake grandson in a couple minutes, for his first hunt this year. Really hoping we get lucky, and he shoots his first deer/buck. I hunted my two properties yesterday, and saw nothing. Got deer, but not much moving in these warm temps where we are. Good luck to all heading out! Congrats yo all who were successful yesterday!

He was working his way to us in heavy brush. At times i could see him clearly but grandson couldn't get on him before he moved again. He headed to our right into the lower swamp. We are now at Maple On The Lake having lunch. We will be heading back in to sit a spot above where we last daw the buck. Hopefully him or one of his buddies comes up out of there before the end of legal shooting time! Send us some luck fellas!

Did you guys know that I have a peep site on my bow? Do you know that you should look thru the peep when aiming at that heavy 8 pointer that's standing broadside at 18 yards? I guess that I didn't know that either... sailed it a foot over his back! Good news is that he never had a clue that I was there. Rookie mistake. 44 years of hunting and still making rookie mistakes.

Scooted out at work and in woods by 530 buddy has a few acres and a stand for an east wind Well east wind so I gave it a try. 3/ 5 doe groups already in fields but not going to put the sneak on these. Five minutes of being in stand a fork four comes in at 26. Crosses ditch and in behind me at 17 standing broadside. Another free pass issued

A neighbor killed killed a big 10 yesterday afternoon. I am glad he got it for several reasons, the first is that he is a great guy who has been after that buck for a few years.

In its 25th year in New York, the BOW workshop brought together 125 women from 34 counties, as well as women from Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Connecticut and Florida. Participants were able to choose four classes of the 51 offered, ranging from fishing, paddleboard yoga, hiking, and trailer handling, to rifle shooting and big game hunting. Our workshop fosters a safe environment for learning new outdoor skills, while promoting camaraderie with like-minded women. Some testimonials from this year’s workshop: “I LOVED the program. Not sure I should even share this here. A little explanation about the new girlfriend because I consider you guys friends. And she may commandeer my profile on the site at any moment anyway. She'll be 28 YO next week. I'm a 59 YO crusty and cranky white SOB with a bad attitude and a bunch of guns. But she's very smart and very cool about everything, and funny as hell too. She's one of the coolest gals I've ever been around. It's sad that I have socks older than she is. She's also black. Not cocoa brown or cream in coffee black. I have to ask her to smile in a dark room so that i can even see her. Someone in the local American Legion called her a N888888 the other day, and people thankfully stopped me from killing the guy. Who the heck would even say that? I'm trying to get her a job in DC working for Charlie Kirk at Turning Point USA. She seems to think I want get rid of her. Take me with you baby!!!

yes . his 1st hunt 5 yards 30-30. only went 150 yards or so waited hr to track ,put finisher in it as was still moving but wasnt going anywhere. told his father would of been cheaper to mount his 1st squirrel than geting a bear..

My doe and wife's bear from 10/5...

My five year old and I went out to pull camera cards about an hour ago. He told me he was hoping we would get a bear or a moose on the camera. I told him there was no way that would happen. Well I'll have to stop telling him that because I sure didn't think I'd get a freaking elk or whatever it is on the camera either! I am in north central Wayne county and I'm pretty sure there aren't and game farms around so I have no idea where this thing came from.

Anyone else waiting till these warm temps succeed before going bow hunting ? It looks like next weeekend will be better so I may get out then. Just not in a hurry to get out there this year. In the past years I have hunted a bunch in early archery , so changing it up this year .I hope slow and steady wins the race.

Made it out for the first hunt of the season...my woods are feeling pretty sterile with no acorns this year. ...but one never know, maybe I’ll get lucky today (the Bills got lucky today)!

The new girlfriend just showed up with some Chinese takeout. II wasn't really expecting that. I don't mind cooking but when the food just shows up I don't turn it down.

Last I checked the supreme court is meant to decide whether laws are constitutional not make new laws nor run political agendas. He is a strict constitutionalist and believes in precedent set by prior supreme court rulings. So no going after liberals shit a la wolc. Dude just relax a bit. Kicked three doe heading back to same area as last night in Columbia county. Adjusted my spot to hit the trail does used last night. 30 minutes in I hear a deer coming charging from my right. Stops at 45 yards and continues past. 5 min later her partner can through at about 40 on the line...away from me. Then another doe comes in and MAKES A LEFT!! once she get to THAT tree I know she’s 22 yards. I was surrounded by a doe and her 2 fawns for just under an hour. Unfortunately momma never gave me a shot. She got within 20 yards at one point then headed off in the wrong direction. A fun two hours and 45 min in the woods. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
