Got out for an hour yesterday afternoon thinking this cold spell may have stressed the deer enough to start dropping, scored three 4pt sides...

So the trip we were trying to plan up in the Indian Lake region for hunting wasn't as easy as we thought. Booking the wrong cabin, then my dog started having major hip issues and had to go on a daily regimen of prescription meds and some chewables to help loosen up the joints. So we had to try and explain to Driftwood about some new issues. They were pretty cool about it, allowed us to switch cabins for the reservation, and didn't charge a 'cancellation' to change cabins. So, it's now official. Cabins booked for a week of hunting ( vacation for my wife ) in the ADK's for Late October. I can't wait! I need to get a new video camera to make sure I can get footage. I am so stoked about this trip!

Since the 7x57 headspace gauges I got from Santa Clause will also work for 257 Roberts (as well as the Ackley Improved version) I couldn't pass these up on E-Bay Now I need to get that 7 x 57 project wrapped up so I can start on this small ring M98 Mexican Mauser.. Sighted in 2 1/2" high at 100yds with 115 gr ballistic tip will impact 3"" low at 330 yds. Ought to make a dandy mountain rifle if I can find appropriate glass for it that doesn't add too much weight.

Done for the day. They did indeed rent me a mini excavator. It was cool to be able to be ME. In shoots of my past, it was BS picking up cups, or tissues, or a bottle of water. This shoot was actually of the activities I do in real life for work. Video was taken of me grabbing the handle on the cage of the cab, and pulling myself up, and in with only the prosthesis, then disengaging the safety column to start operating the machine. Video was taken of me pretending to dig, but I was actually usingvthe machine a if I was actually digging trenches, i made the machine actually move in the motions, not just with the controls. They wanted me to just rotate side to side, so I did....then in between sets, I at one point said screw it, and did my own thing with it. You could see it in their faces the disbelief of how I was making this machine move so gently, and rest the bucket back down on the blacktop, and then move over and move the bucket level just hovered off the ground to, and from the cab. We did some hicking videos, so talking videos, weedwhacking videos, and pics holding pliers, and ratchets. Oh, and a video walking up to the excavator with a mini toolbox in the prosthetic hand, setting it down on the cabs floor. we then went to a nice Mexican restaurant with the woman who gave me this opportunity. She took us to her favorite place, and then showed us the area a little where she grew up, and pointed out a few cool icons, and must know cool facts. it was nice.

I bought an aqua vu 715c 3 weeks ago and have been using it ice fishing. UNREAL! an absolute blast fishing with that camera. if your quick enough you can pull the jig away from the dinks and catch the bigger fish. biggest advantage is it leaves no doubt how the fish want the bait presented. either deadsticked or slow jigging or fast jigging. you also get to see what is there for structure. its like looking at the fish in an aquarium. lol. my buddy climbed in my 2 man hut the other day and within 15 minutes he was online ordering the same camera. I am anxious to try it out on the boat that should be a blast.

The hotel I posted earlier with the fancy pillars etc, and interview room was said to be the oldest hotel in Austin, or first one, cant remember. Supposed to be haunted, which is very cool. Pics below are of Austin skyline on the state capital highway I believe it’s called. The other pic is of our room view. 7am we get picked up for more photoshoots hoping to post a lot more detailed pics as soon as I get a go ahead.

Went very well, very nerve racking during videography. They said I did and awesome job, and were extremely pleased. They made me look like Mr. Furly from Tree’s Company, but thr photographer said all the women are complimenting you over here. It was a good time, and very appreciative.

That ram is a "Texas Dall" they are a white sheep in the hair sheep family similar to the wild sheep of the world in that they have a wooly undercoat with a hair outercoat and do not have to be sheared. They do not weigh much more than 125 lbs. The Texas Dalls are popular to hunt and are bred and raised for that purpose on the big ranches in Texas. I raised some Barbados hair Sheep which are similar to the Texas Dall in most ways except for color and can attest that the mature rams get pretty ill tempered, mine would pull the same crap on my Herford cows giving them some good broadside smashes. My ram came after me several times and we had some pretty good tussles. Al

I too have an equinox and don’t love it BUT it’s just the wrong car for me. Absolutely nothing wrong with it- feels more like a sedan than I wanted. Good price point and good on gas. Father in law used to hunt there a long time ago. Actually used a boat to get around. Told me of stories of breaking up ice to get the boat through. Best story was when the forest ranger came and gathered up all the hunters to help fight a forest fire. I miss him and his stories! Have a great time!

Like comparing a .308 Winchester to a .300 Win Mag. Or a 257 Roberts to a 257 Weatherby Or a 7mm-08 to a 7mm Mag Blah blah blah I'll take the sweet easy shooting rounds for any long range shooting I'll ever do in NYS OR out west. Most guys are real dreamers with their big magnum rounds.......I don't own a 6.5 Creedmoor but do own a 260 Remington and enjoy shooting it.

I'm far north in Dutchess, I'm in 4Z, but 3G is across the street. On a clear day no issue seeing Catskills, Massachusetts, and Connecticut from top of the ridge in my backyard.

This was OK only 8 or 9 years ago. I recall buying and selling used guns on one of the sites. No FFL needed.

I've said it many times that my NY State concealed carry should act in the same way. If I present it I should be able to purchase immediately. I already jumped through their hoops.
