  2. Found this truck in towanda p.a. so my wife and I drove down last night to check it out. It’s a 2014 (last year for the steel body that I prefer) 2 door standard cab with the 5.0 coyote engine ( that I prefer over the turbo 6’s) , 3.73 gears , 4 by 4 , 6.5 ft box with the STX appearance package. and 23,800 original miles . This thing hauls the mail, with the 5.0 and 3.73’s I got on it and had to let off as the rear tires broke loose instantly . Come to find out a older gentleman ordered it this way new , so after giving it a thorough inspection it is a very very clean 5 yr old truck .The dealer is waiting on the title and we are squaring away the paper work so hopefully we can pick it up Saturday. All hinges on if they get the title Friday if not then we will be getting it Tuesday of next week. And the best part , I got it for a very good deal..

  3. This is a quote posted on a forum that is more orientated to African hunting by someone who I consider one of the best PH's and outfitters in the business right now. And for full disclosure I have met him and used his company to book 2 hunts..... From Buzz Charlton; Everyone jumping to conclusions before knowing the full story-Who is to say that they had not been tracking it all day and had seen and evaluated the trophy already. Who is to say they had not already had numerous trail cam pics of it from a bait and followed it out from a bait? I recognise the river, the Ph and the client. What I can the tell you is this- It aint no canned lion hunt, the Ph is well respected and the client is an extremely ethical and hard hunting gentleman that I have had the pleasure of sharing camp with before and I hope again. As to shooting the lion lying down my view on that is it is a personal decision. What I do know very well is that the Antis will and do take everything out of context but as fellow hunters please lets not help them with their agenda by back biting our fellow hunters!!!

  6. Why not? I didnt see if it was a canned (high fence) hunt, but whats the difference between a sleeping lion and one thats awake? To me thats like asking if I would shoot a bedded deer...of course I would!

  10. I hope it's ok to repost this in it's entirety. I found it funny and true, albeit it doesn't address the 2A per, but rather the inalienable right of self defense. https://smallestminority.blogspot.com/2019/03/why-you-need-gun.html?m=1 [Text of post:] A couple years ago I was working security at a bar in northern Virginia. I overheard a table of college kids arguing about gun rights and gun control and it was getting far too emotional so I did what any sane combat veteran would do and attempted to exfiltrate. I must not have withdrawn as surreptitiously as I intended, because I was stopped in my tracks when a 5-foot-nothing brunette seemingly leapt in front of me and blurted out "excuse me, can you help us?" I'm sure I must have looked irritated as I cycled through the possible quips and excuses I considered available to me but being uncertain that she wasn't some Senator's daughter, I caved: "What's up?" She basically leads me to this table of 2 other females (probably both named Karen) and a very soft looking male. Becky: "So, we were just talking about current events and, you know. So, you look like you're probably in the military, right? Like the Army?" (When you accuse someone of being in the military you probably don't need to give an example) Me: "Similar.. yea" Me: "Similar.. yea" Becky: "Right. Okay. So, do you think civilians should be allowed to own guns?" Me: "Most of us. Yes." Becky: (clearly not happy with my answer) "Okay, so, why do you think you need a gun?" (At this point it's almost 2am and I've just given up on patience. Hold my beer) (With intentionally overt condescension): "Oh, honey, I don't. I don't need a gun." Becky stares at me blankly, so I continue, but with a more serious tone: "I could follow you home, walk up your driveway, and beat you to death with the daily newspaper. I could choke you to death with that purse. I could take a credit card, break it in half, and cut your throat open with it. With enough time and effort I could beat your boyfriend here with a rolled up pair of socks. I could probably dream up six dozen other ways I could easily end your life if you gave me an hour or so. If I wanted to, I could wrap my hand around that beer mug and kill all four of you before you could make it to the exit. The worst part is, in your utopian little fantasyland, there ain't a thing any of you could do about it. I don't need a gun. You need a gun. You need a gun because of men like me." Call me a jerk, but if you want to keep your guns, these are the conversations we all need to start having

  18. Taurus ,is an interesting story , at one time owned by the parent company of Smith and Wesson, they turned out very good guns . Shortly after they bought a Beretta factory ,complete with all of Beretta’s machines and tooling ,and they cranked out good guns . Then they lost their way, ownership changes, out of touch with the American market ,to name but two . Finally they decided to turn things around , hired American engineers and others from the U.S. gun industry . The complaints dropped and the orders came flying in . Its very much dependent upon when a Taurus was made sadly , and the crappy gun period was quite long . I can understand some folks hesitation , and I still have some too,but by all acounts new ones are good again ,although the recent past still clouds the issue .its hard to overcome a couple decades of bad guns , I wish them success.

  19. After playing that game for a few years with different providers I bought a 1000 gallon tank and have paid over 1.40$ a gallon since. It takes me a little while calling around and saying company X offered this price and then they’ll beat it and back and forth until no one beats it and that’s why I buy from. 25. So, interesting circumstances today. Within about 30 minutes after posting here this morning, I was contacted by the current supplier who seemed very interested to make things right all the way around. Also mentioned locking in low price in May and matching or beating my lowest competing offer, all of which has been suggested here. Pygmy - that lowest offer that I mentioned was from Countryside. I oversee purchasing at my job and have done that here and at a previous job for many years. That has taught me to give a long standing supplier a chance to make things right (and I appreciate when a customer of ours gives me the same chance, if I should I need it). If I can't work it out, I have Countryside to go to. Seems like coincidental timing, but this forum is read by more than just the members. Thanks for the advice from everyone, it's been more than helpful. But I think I'll stop posting details about this until I have an outcome. I'll update when I do. Great knowledge base on this forum - on a wide range of subject matter!!

  26. I've done it twice above 40 but never with intent. One of them above 50. Neither time was enjoyable and the 56 MPH dump laid me up for four days. I'll honestly say I don't know how I didn't die or break a bone but it remains to this day the second most pain I've ever felt (after blowing out L2-L3). My Yahama 1200R was a big girl, but she pushed amazing power and was steady. Then I upgraded into a full stage turbo kit, impeller and exhaust. She did 72 stock on glass water and I'll be honest, I saw the speedometer hit 80 once for a fleeting second after the modifications and I couldn't handle it any longer and successfully backed her off. Both dumps I walked on water. The bigger one I walked on water for way too long and it was exceptionally quiet for that time until the pain and momentum finally caught up to my brain. I've been on one PWC since 2005. I miss it like crazy but they make no sense in NY. When I live in VA and did watercross, it was worth it because we were on them every weekend 7-8 mos a year. 70MPH on water is the equivalent of doing 140-160 on land. It's intense.

  29. As long as no laws are broken, I don't have a problem with how another hunter kills. We each have our own built in ethics. What is right for one, may not be for another. That's ok. To each their own. Way too much bickering amongst us as a group. United We Stand. Divided We Fall. A side note....... My second biggest buck, was shot in his bed, after tracking him in a blizzard in 1986. One of my most memorable deer hunts ever. I am still proud to tell the story of that hunt. After all these years I still remember every detail vividly. One of my proudest moments as a hunter.

  32. bunch of social media articles on this with the typical "he deserves a slow painful death" response. The irony has always made me chuckle. Personally, I wouldn't hunt lions and I do struggle with shooting a sleeping/resting animal. Most of us have probably had deer bed down near us and I can't imagine none of you have ever struggled with the concept especially considering the compressed vital area. But it's legal. I sure as heck wouldn't have shared the video though.

  33. The only jet skis you need are the ones you talk your buddy in to buying as your only gonna use them 3-4 times a year and its easier to borrow his! Unless you live or have a camp on water then it is a different story.

  34. I called the current provider yesterday and complained about the pricing being 75% higher than the competition. I kept it civil, but did insinuate that I consider it price gouging. The person on the phone suggested I speak to his supervisor after which he put me on hold to speak to him. After a minute or two, the person came back on the line and said the supervisor would call me back within minutes. 18 hours later, no callback. I called back and told him to take me off the auto-fill schedule. After dwelling on this a bit, I really do consider it gouging. My $620 bill would have been $350 with the local provider. Can you imagine pulling up to a gas pump and being charged $4.70 per gallon? The more I think about it, I'm starting to get really ticked off (at myself too for putting up with it). 10 year customer, pay my bill as soon as it posts online - usually 2-3 days after a fill-up, and not even a callback? I see the NYS Attorney General has a web page form to fill out if anyone thinks they are being price gouged by energy companies. Hmmm...

  36. Calling the Judge's remarks "prejudice" is spinning it for the sake of political correctness. Here's the definition of prejudice: prej·u·dice /ˈprejədəs/ noun 1. preconceived opinion that is not based on reason or actual experience. Considering the fact she is a Judge and has actual experience with jihadist crime, none of the things she said would amount to something she has not based on reason or actual experience. If she were telling you we should not be allowing wild tigers to roam the streets freely, would she be guilty of prejudice towards tigers? Pirro specifically refers to jihadists and radical Islamists. Radical Islam is infiltrating America. It isn't assimilating, it's invading. When we elect Islamist Congresspeople who make it their first order of business to attack American law, values and it's people, while supporting the Islamic jihadist invasion of America, we are encouraging them to continue on this path. Where do you think that path leads to? Judge Pirro is a very intelligent jurist and everything she has said is truth backed up by facts. If you allow people to take offense at truthful remarks in order to excuse their behavior, you are guaranteeing a lot more of this behavior in the future. Nobody in America, as far as I can recall, has ever condemned Muslims in the world for being Muslims. The Muslims being condemned are the ones that are jihadists bent on killing any other human being on this planet that isn't a Muslim. That's not a prejudice. That's self preservation and defense. It's time to stop with the politically correct BS and fix this problem the way it needs to be fixed, and that is with honest assessment and the effective action required.

  44. We take coffee very seriously in the Goose household. Mornings get freshly ground coffee, usually Jamaican Blue Mountain. I buy it on Ebay. We brew it in a Technivorm Moccamaster, the best drip coffeemaker out there. link Evenings we do Tim Horton's k-cups, and outside the house we do Tim Horton's if at all possible. I use half and half and a Splenda or stevia drops. Mrs. Goose just uses half and half.

But I found that Walmart sells their original blend coffee and I usually make a cup at a time in my Hamilton Beach single serve coffee maker.
