  6. I would absolutely shoot a sleeping Lion or any other game animal I was hunting so long it was a free range hunt and I made the successful stalk to put myself in the position for a good shot. What I would not do is take a video of it, pictures of the hunter with his game is one thing and ok by me but I have said it many times "hunting" is not a spectator sport and especially so for the non hunting public. It is and will be looked upon by most non hunting educated non hunting participants as an execution, watching an animal flopping around in it's death throes with blood being spilled is not a pleasant thing to watch for anyone. As for being able to use stealth for tracking along with spot and stalk techniques to locate most hunted game species and catching them sleeping without being detected for a good shot takes some doing and serious skills, and what is the case most of the time is they are awake and alert making very tough to be undetected. Such hunting with consistency is the mark of a very good "hunter" as far as I am concerned. Al

  14. Ok stood in line for an hour and a half today to grab this . It was to be 3 four packs per person, but due to how many showed up, they said first 250 could get 3, the rest 1 . I was around 265 ... glad to get some ,wished they just made it 2 four packs . It’s a Genesee, Other Half brewery collaboration. Ok very cloudy , almost an IPA / Cream Ale blend, due to the Citra hops added, very easy drinker, wife said it reminds her of that “ Yellow can “ aka Sip Of Sunshine lol. Not nearly as flavorful or strong though . I hope they release as a regular,or seasonal , very good summer beer imo . https://13wham.com/news/local/hundreds-wait-in-line-for-genesee-other-half-cream-ale-release

  15. Better yet, dropped a deuce in her candy bowl. After spending three days with 150 14/15 year olds, they are not ready to comprehend the impotence of voting. Their entire world and majority of the choices made are simply based on influence(an “influencer” is now a job?!?!) and typically the influence of the biggest Goofy clown. It is a stage and a phase of their development that is not fully done growing. At 16 I only cared about what sport I was playing, who in the group had the best ID to buy the High Life (yup-even back then!) and how we weren’t going to get caught. We have already robbed our kids of childhood with ridiculous earl Ed curriculum - leave them their goofy pre-pubescent adolescences. McMurphy said it best, “Damn Billy, you should be out birddogging chicks and bangin’ beaver” cuckoos nest Voting is a responsibility they are not ready for and DIDNT ASK FOR! 22. every one of those i see coming my way to jump somebodys waves, I assume asked someone to hold their beer! I actually tend to get off the lake by 11 if its nice out before the tourists come out. One year got stuck in the middle of a poker run about to start as I was coming in and thought i was gonna get swamped. Got out of the way quick. But funniest even was the time me and a buddy in a 12ft alum boat with a trolling motor out bass fishing. "wonder what all these bouys are for?" "dunno but the smallies like em" So as we are fishing a plane is getting lower and lower and he has skis and not wheels.....ummmm. Lol yeah we were in the landing zone. He came by low and I think that was our warning buzzing the tower! yeah we moved!

  26. Personally have never understood the attraction to Rinella and his group of holier than thou cohorts. What a load of bull shit to score card another hunter on a topic that they know nothing about, thtas no better then the anti's tactics. Someone just sent me a link to a shitty report on auction tags they posted, and every time they always have a problem with folks who have money; as if being a broke hunter is somehow superior. What a load of drivel. I have taken WAY more game by head count in Africa then the Lion hunter in question....maybe they want to grade me and my bank account.

  30. Equilibrium/Finback collab. Big time orange and grass notes (not dank) plus the luscious EQ juice thing. I had to search to find that it's made with Cryo hops (my first time trying). Interesting and really good. Love the way this beer keeps the juicy sweetness in check with the earthy grass flavor.

  31. So, interesting circumstances today. Within about 30 minutes after posting here this morning, I was contacted by the current supplier who seemed very interested to make things right all the way around. Also mentioned locking in low price in May and matching or beating my lowest competing offer, all of which has been suggested here. Pygmy - that lowest offer that I mentioned was from Countryside. I oversee purchasing at my job and have done that here and at a previous job for many years. That has taught me to give a long standing supplier a chance to make things right (and I appreciate when a customer of ours gives me the same chance, if I should I need it). If I can't work it out, I have Countryside to go to. Seems like coincidental timing, but this forum is read by more than just the members. Thanks for the advice from everyone, it's been more than helpful. But I think I'll stop posting details about this until I have an outcome. I'll update when I do. Great knowledge base on this forum - on a wide range of subject matter!!

I've just watched (in the past 90 minutes) the most basketball I've ever watched in one sitting..........my previous max time was 10 minutes. My daughter will graduate from UB in May and I know Dinsdale is also a graduate. Any others on here??

  34. I've mentioned on here before I am no longer posting any pics of any hunting anymore, made that mistake, learned from it and moving on; and I've also decided to extend that to fishing as of recent. The "share" just isn't worth the price; ironic it was others posting stuff that encouraged me to begin with and I can't do that going forward for someone else. Oh well. I brought up the number because the author made it sound like a big deal the Lion hunter has taken 70+ head of African game. Again implying somehow money is a evil thing for true hunters; cause this guy can afford something he must not be ethical true hunter. Just because they are better off financially has nothing to do with being a sportsman (or woman, I know one who can out shoot most with a rifle; learned quite a bit from her and changed my offhand shooting skills significantly).

  35. Like Rinella or not, I think he does a good job of explaining a rationale for hunting that most on the fence will understand and accept. My personal view is that he is a good representative in terms of winning support for hunting from the uncertain or indifferent masses.

  36. My Nissan frontier has a 6ft bed but it is an ext cab and not the double cab. Getting hard to find the ext cab trucks these days. And i agree dont like the little 4 ft bed - might as well get an SUV and a trailer and have the seating rather than a 4ft bed

  37. that's why I chose my words carefully. And said "struggle" to take that shot. There is a similar discussion though about the compressed organs and your shot placement. I don't think you know much about Rinella at all from this post. And there's a lot to unpack here. First, nobody should ever agree with everything else someone else believes, and I'm mostly speaking to the trumpers on this site. But Rinella got his beginning living dirt poor in Michigan. He became a writer and then a successful producer of a show that was on the sportsman channel and later netflix. He doesn't trophy hunt and spends half the show talking about the landscape and the processing of whatever he killed (if he gets something at all). His show has featured everything from elk to squirrel, beaver trapping and some exotic south american stuff. To put him in a category with some of the tv personalities is unfair. To judge him on just 30 minutes of show is unfair. I've listened to hours, upon hours of his podcast and they are some of the most thoughtful, real, down to earth sportsman you'll ever hear. The whole idea of the scorecard is to rate the impact hunters have on the community. And while you may disagree with it, it's an absolute fact that what this guy did was another blow to our sport. People don't like this kind of thing and it doesn't matter if you agree with it or not. Dudes need to stop sharing their pics and videos and the antis will have less shit to moan about. And if you disagree with that, eventually you'll lose the rights completely. Finally, you're a big game African hunter. The only active one on this board as far as I know, or at least the only one who has done a lot of it. It's clear you're passionate about it and take offense to this topic. Fine, but you need to remember most of us are blue collar whitetail hunters and our biggest dream is to hunt a rocky mountain bull elk. If you have truly done as much African hunting as you claim, you're not hurting for cash. What Steve and the guys argue about when it comes to money is that fundamentally they generally don't believe anyone's bank account should provide them better or exclusive access to a public resource. They are huge proponents of public land access and are the main reason I joined BHA. They also recognize that the majority of conservation money comes from lottery tags from out of state. It's a delicate topic and one they talk at lengths about. I also take personal issue with your "I've taken WAY more game.." who cares man? This isn't a dick measuring contest. You directly contradict your "holier than thou" criticism when you end your post like that. It reads to me that you believe you're better than the guy who shot the sleeping lion and better than Rinella and his group. Isn't that what set you off about the article in the first place? Rinella has never been on the outdoor channel. It should be noted that meat-eater is a brand and that Rinella himself didn't post the article. And honestly... some dudes need to be called out. Should we just ignore the amish guy who was poaching trophy bucks in ohio because he's "another hunter"? How very union of you

  38. What attracts a lot of people to him and guys like Randy Newberg is that their videos not only show the hunting and killing of the animal (where most other hunting videos will end) but also the field care, processing and eventually the preparation of the meat. Their popularity proves that it's not all about horns and trophies to MANY hunters out there. Others will claim, like FSW and others here, that a hunter wouldn't even get out of bed to go hunting if the possibility of killing a huge buck didn't exist. I call BS on that and the popularity of TV hunters like Rinella and Newberg proves the point that I am not alone in that philosophy.

  41. I can't comment on a sleeping animal as I've never been in that situation, but was this a clean shot? Why did he shoot three times? Is that normal with lions? I will say that a video of an animal snapping and writhing in pain as it dies helps no one. For the life of me I don't understand why people post these videos. That takes a real disconnect to the current mindset and the challenges facing hunting.

  42. Picked up the 570 the other day. For what I need, it will do just fine. Only wood I burn is in my 250gal smoker, so smaller maple, hickory will be easy. Anything larger and I'll hop on the JD tractor. Don't plan on trail riding much. Just a around the yard, hunting machine. The last wheeler I had was a 97 Polaris 425 magnum, so this is a definite upgrade. I have to have a full auto as my left ankle is fused, so there's no way I could comfortably shift. Only have 2 miles on it, lol. But I'm sure it will serve me well. Well, not sure why I've got a sideways pick. Lol

  45. Yes, but I would walk around back first and shoot it directly from the rear. That would give me a good angle to the heart and would also point it in a direction that would allow me to get the maximum amount lead into it (with follow-up shots) before it got to me. Having pulled that shot off once on a standing buck, I would not hesitate on a sleeping lion. I would not shoot a sleeping lion from the side or the front, because my chances of escaping unharmed would be lower.

  47. What other ways would they do that? The media lies, the education system ignores the danger while it indoctrinates, the Democrats support the invasion and political correctness prevents free speech. Where did the smart enough ones get their info from? Besides, nobody is depending on these people for their info, though they do serve a purpose by putting a counter point out there. But punishing them for telling the truth is a form of tyranny to control speech, which is how you control what the smart enough people know. What she said is a hard truth and a fact. I find it scary she's the only one saying it. Maybe because the rest of the people who know it, are more concerned about protecting their paychecks then they are of protecting the citizens of the US.

  48. Sounds like you two think Pirro is blowing smoke. I'm not surprised since the majority of the country seems to think it isn't coming. After the first Trade Center attack people were trying to warn us the terrorists were not going to quit. What was done to prevent 9/11/01? Nothing! Do you think they've quit now? To some people, America is more important than money. She's got enough to be set for life, unless the country is destroyed economically and figuratively. I believe she has priorities, and warning Americans what is going on is one of them. What concerns me is some people are trying to silence her. Does that concern anyone else?
