  1. The guys that piss me off are the career tailgaters! You can be doing 40 in a 30, or 70 in a 55, or 120 in 45 for that matter, and they're still right on your ass! They even got the balls to flash their alternating headlights, then turn on those obnoxious flashing red and blue roof lights, and some will even go so far as to use sirens to intimidate you, or yell at you over an intercom speaker to "PULL OVER" and then they just pull up behind you anyhow. THEN they take you to work with them, and the whole way there they drive 5 under the limit and talk about you to their buddies over the radio like they just caught the biggest fish in the lake, lol

  3. For some of us we like to keep and use the word hunt in hunting. We find a buck or two and hunt for them. They are always of a certain size and nothing less will do. We may take a different buck we did not plan on but it will be of the same size or bigger. Is that really called Trophy Hunting.. Or setting a standard? We still get to enjoy every other aspect of the hunt that everyone else does we just make it a little harder and actually make it so some skill and knowledge is involved. In most parts of the state it does not take much of a "Hunt" just to kill a yearling buck or a doe. The word Hunting can be thought of and used in many different ways by hunters and none of them would be wrong. Just Different. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  4. '74 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible WITH hardtop. 51,000 miles.....$22,000 My friend is the third owner I believe and has had it for 20+ years. I bet he hasn't put 3,000 miles on it in that time. Each winter it's stored in a steel barn on stone but with a vapor barrier under it. Never driven in the winter or even rain! PM me if interested.

  8. Had a 25-06 many years ago, was used as a varmint only proposition at the time, made some wicked long shots with that gun. Traded it off for something I thought I would like better, one of the dumber thing I have done! Wanted another one to mess around with before I croak so I picked up a Thompson Center 25-06 stainless Barrel 28 inches long for my Pro Hunter Encore Predator which should produce some serious velocity, mounted a Burris Timberline Compact variable, fired up the old Bair press and loaded some cartridges using the Hornady 90 gr GMX bullets over MRP. I also still have some ammo I loaded almost 50 years ago, it will be interesting on how well it performs after all that time. Al

  14. I hate the guy that brakes all the way to a green light then punches it through. Because of their ignorance 4 people get left at a red light that could have made it through. Or little miss barbie who thinks it's ok to text half way through a green light

  15. I ignore people behind me. I'm not legally responsible for anything that happens behind me. If they hit me in the rear, it's legally their fault. Unless I brake check them, which I don't do, they hit me and they are in trouble. I'm not going to let them distract me from what's going on in front of me. They are completely insignificant to me. What makes me mad are people who pass me, then slow down so I have to hit my brakes and deactivate my cruise control. I set it about 5 MPH over the limit on the highway, so if they pass me I would expect them to keep going faster than I'm going. Nope, they just want to be in front so they don't have to pay attention to where they're going.

  16. all i can say is ......... self driving cars are coming! Been a defensive driving instructor for about 20 years. Ive had people ask me if they have to stop for a flashing red light. I tell them only if they can get thru the light when its not on! lol Subaru has a car out now that has a sensor that tells you when you take your eyes off the road for too long. As we all know people on the road everyday are just terrible drivers! You have one good day and pass your road test and never get tested again or get updates on new laws etc.....I know some road test instructors and they have told me some crazy stories. Wonder why they are always in a bad mood..... ride around with a bunch of 17 year olds that dont have a license yet all day. One guy told me how a kid panicked on a RR crossing when the lights came on and stopped on the tracks. He had his hand on the door handle ready to bail and finally as hes yelling at the kid to go he floors it and squeals off the tracks. Or when a girl was driving and a parked car door opened and she went across the yellow line and hit a crane in a construction site. The crane had a steel beam on it and it started swinging through the site and people were running everywhere..... yeah. But unless the lights on the tracks didnt happen to come on right then, or that door open right, then they prob would have passed their test and been on the road.

  21. I almost think it is becoming two different things A sport for some folks to go after the challenge of a big rack or for a few a 200 pounder, some for the glory and some for there own self measuring. And it is kind of a competition to these folks. And for others its not a sport but a way of life. More about the experience and the sustenance. If I could not eat it I pretty much would not hunt. I am not really into catch and release either. I fish for fish I like to eat and are fun to catch. I do not like my hunting to be referred to as a sport. I am not competing against anyone or recording a score like golf or bowling. I am not saying either is wrong. I don't understand the first as much because I am the second. But I am not against it except for the fact that the general public are pretty favorable for sustenance hunting not trophy hunting.

  32. I am very interested in how these Hornady 90 gr GMX bullets perform, as I have them loaded they should be approaching 3400 fps. I never have and still do not care for pure copper bullets especially when fired from a fast stepping cartridge and doing a lot of shooting. They will plate the insides of a barrel and removing it is a genuine pain in the ass. The GMX gilding metal bullet is harder than copper and is reputed to foul no more than a traditional jacketed bullet. Hornady claims it will shoot as accurate and hold together on game as well as copper and if it meets those claims it would be a very good bullet I think. Al

  48. Absolutely nothing. Everyones trophy is different I've personally shot 1 jake in my life. About 3 years ago fall hunting. I called as I was making my way out of the woods and about a dozen heads pop up . I shot the first red head I saw. Funny part was I had just taken a call from my brother who's property I was hunting and he was out west. There I am talking on my phone, hang up, call and 25 yards from where I was talking all these heads pop up. I shoot and text brother. He's like what?! I was just talking to you 30 seconds ago. Another fun jake story. Couple years back I had 2 longbeards hammering all morning. They hung up at 100 yards or so. Descended down the big hill. They'd gobble occasionally and shut down for a few hours. After a bit I hear crappy gobbles and then see 9 jakes and 1 hen coming in through a field almost on top of me. I could have shot any one of those 9 . all of a sudden they boot scoot boogey and gobble at the same time I then see the 2 LB's again and the jakes were going to go kick their butts. A hen comes running up the hill and almost across my feet. the 2 Toms were nervous but went into 3/4 strut as the jakes got closer. I putted once and once LB came out of his partial strut and I tipped him over at about 30 yards. When I shot all the jakes gobbled and took off running. Had I shot one of those jakes one of my best to date toms wouldn't have gone home with me that day.
