  1. Here are the two fish chef caught. The little guy was 12 inches and the big guy was 18 inches. Can’t wait to head back to the Delaware. Idk if I’ll be able to fish the bk much after seeing the quality they have on the DE Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  5. Have a great day guys. First year without my Dad. This hurts more than his birthday. Like a steak through the heart. My sister and I took my mom out to the Montauk summer home and took real good care of her. I think he would of liked this.....Miss you Dad.

  7. Bought the thing. Seven days ago I wasn’t in the market for a boat. Damn funny how these things happen! Didn't try it in the water, just on muffs. Started right up, ran smooth, sounded fine when revved up, and shifted cleanly in forward and reverse. Trim pump sounded like it should. Electric anchor seems nice, never had one on my other boats. Solid floor and transom, full fiberglass interior in good enough shape for the age. It should clean up well. Nice surprise - fore and aft livewells!! One pump replaced last year. Didn’t know it had that. Inexpensive eagle fish finder but it works. Seats are old but all in good shape. Two pedestal seats for fishing. Trailer has surge brakes. 3 point ski pylon and he threw in a tube and pair of skis. Nice guy, we shot the breeze for a half hour. $3800. I think this may have been a good buy! Trip to the bank for a withdrawal tomorrow morning!

  9. I got this response from the DEC regarding the fin clip. I couldn’t find the chart that lists the years and was curious on age. “Hi Tommy, Congratulations to your Dad on a great catch. The lake trout in Lake Gilead have had right pectoral clips in 2013 2008 and in 2003. Without having a scale sample it is tough to tell for sure, but based on previous data from aging lake trout I would guess that it is from the 2008 stocking making it 11 years old -Ryan Coulter” Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  10. I always cook trout whole, do people fillet them? Once you fork the meat off the one side the skeleton pulls right out like a tom and jerry cartoon. I have deboned them before thats pretty cool but time consuming

  11. been a while since i started this journey. Added a smoker to the equation and yesterday I made a 5 pound batch of breakfast sausage and a 5 pound batch of snack sticks. I used my jerky gun with a sausage attachment, and can foresee a stuffer in my future. Wasn't super difficult, but a more time consuming having to reload every 1.5 pounds. And a good workout for the hand. Both batches were made with LEM kits which include the casings and spice mixes.

  26. Rub that big trout with olive oil....Put half a dozen garlic cloves in the body cavity...Wrap it securely with heavy duty aluminum foil, so no steam escapes...Do it directly on the grill at medium to medium high heat....Turn it over every two minutes for 15-20 minutes... Open the foil and the skeleton and bones should pick right away from the meat...Season to taste...I like a little salt & pepper, but some folks like lemon or other seasonings... I have done the same thing directly on the coals of a wood fire in Alaska and other remote places, but if you put it right on the coals you need to turn it more often and cook for a shorter time....Wild leaopard rainbows, dolly vardens and grayling never tasted so good as cooked that way... Don't forget the cheeks...On a big trout like that there a good sized sweet nugget of meat on each cheeks... Bon apetit'......SMILE.....

  28. Wow, I'm surprised. Any deer I've shot with the Nosler BT's, 7mm-08 and 270, it was like a grenade in the vitals. Even destroyed both shoulders on one. And rarely get an exit wound, even at 50 yards, as all the energy is absorbed by the deer and it's lights out.

  40. Called Taxi and buck is done. But....still needs to dry. He said it was done but one ear wasn't perfect so he redid something and it came out great. Said it would be done if it wasn't for the damn weather it would be dry. Hoping by the weekend. But he said "this buck has to look perfect cause it's a damn nice buck and you know me ...has to be right." Lol

  41. All I can say is wow what an amazing course. I hit the fairway on the first 2 drives pared the 3rd hole. Then hole 4 really kicked my ass bad. I let that get in my head and I did bad on the next few holes. After telling myself to just enjoy it I went back to having fun. What a great time. We got off of the course at 9 and are heading back to Buffalo.

A friend from work son was awarded this sword for finishing top in class! Still got some finishing to do but it's getting there. Wood is cherry. Wiil post pictures when it's done.
