Constanzas Rueben venison sausage from a very gracious fella ! Thanks TF they were awesome. GF came up with a great idea . Her daughter is going to Geneseo so thinking she will be toting a cooler in the fall! She will be my Constanzas mule! Lol. Sauteed some onions and butter and cow rub. Then added in kraut, 1/4 beer and a spoonful of Nundas horseradish Caraway mustard. And let it cook for a bit. Salt potatoes too. Killer good.

After the 9+ hour trip to get here yesterday, I was a bit thirsty.

Me and my brother took a trip up to the hunting property in madison county to see what we wanted to change stands wise. Ended up putting in 2 ground blinds so we can take up the kids, moved a ladder stand. Still have to go back and replace the ladder stand we moved with a double ladder and possibly adding another single ladder or a hangon in a pasture they keep sneaking through. Lease owners did say they have seen 2 different piebalds in the last week. So im hoping to see one this year. First year in 3 years me and my brother are hunting together and actually getting along. But it will probably be my last in the woods with my dad. His dementia is getting bad quickly and dont think he has much time left to enjoy hunting. So we are trying to get him one last deer.

Limit of eyes on Oneida by 8:30. Got two in first 10 min then had to work for the last one for bit.

Just thought I would share a few pictures of that bull I shot last fall. I know a few of you hate pictures from the taxidermist but the mount only came in a few weeks ago and I haven't had a chance to put it up yet.

I went with the Havaheart trap for a few seasons .... Until I decided to mark a little fella with Orange paint ( the kind they mark roads with ) and I used to drop them off a mile up the road and across the street by the power line , next day I caught the same little Orange Tailed Chipmonk . Well I took him/her for a ride to the local Price Chopper parking lot and let him go in the middle of it and sure enough a Hawk swoops done and grabs him for lunch .... Gotta Love Nature !

My brother shot over a hundred two consecutive years They were garden thieving little bastids for sure. .410 with 7.5’s were the ticket. Chipmunks are a nuisance animal so have at it. Red squirrel too.

For chipmunks, it's hard the beat the Bucket of Death.... I used it on the property until the bears discovered it....Now I might get a day or two before they discover it, but after that, forget it, because they come back every day... It's a good option if you don't have many bears around..

Ok I got seed tonight, plan a seed wasn't in stock and the other seed doesn't come in till Monday, so plan b is winter wheat, oats, rye, clovers, brassicas and Monday I might get some WI oats (I've always wanted to try them). Getting up early to head up to lay my eyes on it for the first time and get spreading lime, fert and seed. We had him dig out in a small vernal pond just up wind of the plot so will have to seed around that, while he did that he used the left over dirt to build up a 4wheeler path that ran thru a wet area. I'm so excited I might not get much sleep!

So I called Bob yesterday at about 5:30pm and asked his thoughts on what we could use to upset the dirt in the plot before spreading seed on Sat. Plot is pretty much weed free at this point but dirt is hard. I was thinking of dragging a cut telephone pole with screws in it. Bob says, I have an idea and I think all the materials we need. By 10:15pm, he engineered and welded up the prototype CulverCreek ATV plow. It’s pretty darn cool and heavy duty. We can even ratchet on logs if we need more weight (it ain’t real light now) but I suspect due to the angle on the pointed tines it will dig in good enough for what we need (only 1” or so will be plenty) without weight. Plus you can flip it over and drag after spreading with the flat bar. I have to say, Bob has skills and is creative. His camp is a greater example of that though. Nice Job Culver!

Unfortunately I don't really get excited deer hunting anymore for myself, I enjoy the habitat management and cameras more than hunting every year it's almost become a challange to see what I can really accomplish.. .. I would like the the senior member of camp to kill his buck of a life time, and so I put a lot of effort into the area around his stand this year including rebuilding his ladder so he can climb into it( his knees are very bad, needs replacements but keeps putting it off) that's where the 10 pt is. and of course they youngsters just starting out to see and possibly take some game. Get them hooked a bit into the hunting world and hope fully get them into the habitat manipulation aspect of it..unfortunately that hasn't happened yet..

Having something different today. A Brut IPA blended with Pinot. From Rogue. Tastes like champagne with hops in it. Not bad on a hot summer day but nothing I’m gonna have on a regular basis. Still, good to try new things....

Have the worx brand trimmer and leafblower.battery life isnt to bad.i can get through trim and part of leafblowing before i have to swap batteries.a few guys at work have different brands of trimmers and the chain/pole saw also n love em

If your kid has one of those battery operated cars, like the Jeep, or pink Barbie car, that they ride around the yard in you’ll like this . Theres a guy on the net that makes custom plugs, so you can run your tool batteries in the car , be warned , it really speeds them up .

Looks like a kingbird.... They tend to be very defensive of their nests.. Eagles don't develop their adult plumage ( white head/tail) until they are about four years old...The immature birds look like blotchy-brown hawks, only much bigger... Nice pictures...

I have 3 batteries that are all the same one for each cordless tool I. Have ir so they all work interchangeably. Clear shooting lanes with pole saw , quiet and quick, and clear trails with chainsaw, as well as dropped many trees over the winter. Love the fact its quiet, no gas stench to leave or get on me. The snow blower clears walk way and elevated deck as well as cleans off pond for ice skating and hockey. Sun joe/ snow Joe have a 20volt system (decent bunch of guys bought the 20volt pole saws after using my 40volt) A 40 volt system that is pretty impressive that I have , and now they came out with a 100 volt.. I really would like to try the chainsaw as it's a 20 in bar as some of the trees I was dropping i had to cut from both sides as the bar wasnt long enough.

Dad had a barrel that Had hole in the lid that he attached a hose to that ran off his lawn mower , unscrewed muffler and hose had a fitting that screwed on to where muffler was. Have a hart trap went into barrel with critters in it . I had a cat that pissed all over the house , so cat made a trip over to Dads as well . Our Beagle goes after the chipmunks , only downside is he chews up the downspouts where they like to hide .

What I’m a good 15 or maybe 20 feet from my neighbors house when I shoot ! You can bow hunt 150 yards from a house , so I only need permission from two neighbors in each direction to shoot in my yard , none of them care they think bows are a toy , and I’m a swell guy ! When I shot in my driveway of my house in the city of Roch. I’ve had cops wave when they drove by ,hunters I guess . Id say speeding is the most broken law, well that and lying on tax forms , but that’s built in the system.

Cordless power tools have come a long way especially since the lithium batteries came on the scene. I purchased a set of Green Works 40 volt items a couple of years ago, a chain saw, a pole saw, a leaf blower and a mower and have had very good luck with all. Very good power and battery life allows them to do the smaller jobs around my place easily, quickly and conveniently. The set of Milwaukee Fuel cordless power tools I have for all practical purposes work as well as corded stuff. Al

Yes I have a 40 but pole saw and 40 volt snowblower 16in and a 16 in chainsaw..I can get about 1 hr 30 min out of a battery but I see they now have a 80 volt.cordless chainsaw I may have to get
