  1. Just picked up our Dusty W Kennel GSP yesterday. We have a 1 year old GSP and when I brought Stella home it was like they were long long friends. Cooper is one of my upland guide dogs and Stella will be doing some smaller hunts by November

  5. Drove down to Pocono Raceway for the Indycar race today. Bad crash on lap 1 that thankfully everyone walked away from. Race was red flagged while they repaired the catch fence. Second red flag for nearby lightning and they emptied the grandstands. They checkered it shortly afterward 72 laps short. Torrential downpour minutes after we got back to the truck. Still a good day. We had paddock and pit row passes, that was a plus.

  6. Bought my one son a Bear Cruzer lite back in February for his 6th birthday. He’s starting to shoot really well with it. Got him out to 20 yards now.

  9. While in Browns Archery shop yesterday, I asked about lighted nocks. I have never used them before. He had Luminocks and a couple of other brands, but told me "use these Glory Nocks, I think they are awesome" so I bought a pack. I will give my opinion after target shooting and hopefully killing a deer with them. Supposed to be lighter, brighter, and easier to turn off. Anyone out there use them?

  12. Yes sir, after I bought them, I did research them, and that is exactly what I found too. Hoping to put them on this week and shoot, to see how they work for me. Want to narrow down what arrows I'll be hunting with as well. Then go from field points to broadheads, for practice until the opener on October 1st. Will certainly update this thread to give my opinion on the Glory nock. Even if I don't have anything to compare them to. With this new to me bow, I'm trying some different things this year. Drop away rest, multi pin sight, dual cam, lighted nocks, perhaps going back to NAP Thunderheads from Muzzy. It is light years ahead of my 19 year old Mathews! So after having gone through the bow, top to bottom over the weekend, and shooting last night, I haven't looked forward to a bow opener this much in years!! After shoulder surgery, I felt like my bow hunting days were about over. With this bow I can shoot more, with less pain, and It's made a huge difference for me. So perhaps I will kill a deer with a bow again?? moog has drawn fist blood with it. But I'm hoping not last.

  16. I was in Browns Archery(I bough a Martin Lynx from the original owner back in the 80s) yesterday having some work done on my Obsession Phoenix. Something just seemed a bit off to me. Was in there almost three hours, going through the bow, axel to axle with the owner Rick. A great place to do business and a great guy! Nothing major, just some minor adjustments on the drop rest string, added a longer string loop, sight alignment and peep adjustment. Bumped up the poundage from 48 to 52lbs. Decided to go back to 400 spine arrows from the 350. (I have plenty of both) Paper tuned it, and it's perfect. He really took care of me big time. 100% confidence in this bow now getting ready for bow season. Any of you capital region guys looking for a great bow/pro shop give Browns a try. I think you'll like the service there. I know I did.

  18. Haven’t been shooting much but it’s time. Not happy with two high and left. But I have plenty of time to groove things. Finally too that point with my longbow that I can stay relatively consistent even with extended time not shooting. But back to it.

  19. 99% of getting scoped is a crappy scope without enough eye relief and someone that doesn’t know how to properly shoot. You have the scope part covered with that glass, make sure pulls it into her shoulder and there shouldn’t be any problems! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  20. 120gn Barnes Ttsx is about as good of a load as you can get for the 7-08 very little recoil my 11 yr old daughter shoots her single shot cva with no problems. When I bought it I got a couple boxes of the reduced recoil and ran out of them and she’s been shooting the Barnes since and didn’t notice a difference. That 120gn copper bullet performs as good or better as any 140gn lead bullet I’ve tried. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  21. @Biz-R-OWorld haha, i do like my Fords, next is a Ranger, might go charcoal though. I thought I would get sick of white, but I like it a lot. I have an F250, so the Escape is just a commuter. I always say stick to what has given you good luck....

  22. To turn off the Glory Nocks after shooting, you just place the nock back on the bowstring, then simply press the button on the side, remove arrow, and it's off?? Says no tools needed? I'll see if it's really that easy once I shoot them.

  23. The last 4 vehicles I purchased were black. I have to say, I am liking the white. Always looks clean unlike black which looks clean long enough to put away the drying towels from the wash.

  24. Go Ford, rumor has it Chevy dropped to 3rd on the truck list, fords been on top for a reason.

  25. I would stay away from the Toyota, all the reasons they gained such popularity are no longer in play , the technology in the drivetrains that Ford and gm are using is far superior to Toyota now a days.

  26. I was in the same situation and contemplated for a few years. I loved the Ford F150, but they don't fit in most regular size garages. I needed to get a compact truck and wanted 4 full doors, heated seats, etc. The Ford Ranger fit the bill perfectly. I'm only 1,200 miles in, but I could not be any happier with my decision! The other choices I thought about were the Chevy Colorado and Toyota Tacoma in that size. I also get 22MPG, which i am more than happy with on a truck that takes 87 gas.

  27. If your leasing just go to a few big dealers, I just get the best deal every time and the last two times has been ford. Do NOT do extended cab with kids, go crew cab. I made that mistake last time.

  28. From what I heard, yesterday's "Cuts for a cause" raised approx $2K. There will be another one next weekend as well as a wine tasting fundraiser event and raffles for some great gifts (in-home private chef cooked dinner, gift cards, etc.) https://www.glosskatonah.com/events

  36. I'll throw in my 2 cents. Go crew cab don't even think about the extended cab. I had an extended cab when my kids where babies and while the car seats fit without issue it was tight for sure. I now have a crew cab and would have loved dearly to have that extra space while I was dealing with car seats and kids that can't buckle themselves in. For an example say its absolutely pouring rain outside and you have an extended cab. You get soaked while getting your baby/child into their seat and buckled up. With a crew cab you jump into the back with them and stay dry while getting them buckled up nice and safe. Sounds stupid but when it happens you will be SO happy you have the crew cab and are dry.

  37. Beauty for sure. Love the brows .... ok and the rest.

  38. Definitely a crew cab with kids. I wouldn't get too wrapped up in the "these are better than those" discussions with a lease. If you are leasing they are all good options, you will be out of it in 3 years anyway and it will be under warranty. Go look at all of them and see what fits you best and see who will work the best deal with you. I've had a few different trucks and different brands, but haven't even looked at this year's new models so I can't comment on "what is better" for me, and that may not be better for you anyway. A couple of friends and one of my sons works for NYS's largest dealer group, they all tell me to get a Toyota or Ford for my next truck. I haven't owned either, but my next one will most likely be one of those two. I do love the new Ram HD's though!

  41. I have 2 cva ,an apex and a optima v2 . Both of them shoot 100g Blackhorn 209, 300g shockwave , federal shot primers . Super consistent and great shooters. I highly recommend the Blackhorn, there is a Blackhorn breach plug to make sure you get a hot enough ignition. Do some research and see if the one you are serious about is compatible with Blackhorn, once you shoot it ,you'll never shoot any of that other garbage ever again .

  43. I’ve heard good things about the TC Omega. Your optics on any gun as good as you can shoot is my quote. Buy good optics for whatever you choose imo. I’ve used my Winchester apex magnum ML for primary deer gun for 20 years. Bushnell Elite 3200 3x 9 firefly.

  46. 8/18: Went to dad’s land. Been 2 weeks and throw & grow and WR is starting to sprout. Big 4 with no brows and some does and a yote on cam. None of the bigger bucks this time. Also hung a hang-on on a ridge for gun season. The 6 feet may not look like much from pic, but it gives a view of extra hundred yards downhill. Lastly i show my bow: 4 at 25 1 at 32 2 at 36 5 at 40 1 at 20 So, 13 shots. All with same pin (25yds) and just held high/low. First time shooting at 40yds. 4/5 were within a couple inches. 1 flyer missed bullseye by 5" Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  47. Got some shots in. Sitting on the hangon. Had better groups sitting then standing out of it. Deer is 30, pulled the first shot to the right, turkey 20 ,pig 15. Adjusted sight since i kept hitting to the right. But all those shots are using 30yrd pin. Without much change in point of aim. And thats what i was hoping for.
