  2. Now I know what you're going to say about robbing the cradle! Yes she is 30 years old and I'm 56 but aint she purdy! This gun has never been re-sighted in since day 1! Dead on at 100 yards ever since. Knowing her all these years she has been putting on some weight, not the same gal she was back in the 90's.....or is it me getting to old to lug her around! lol She is heavy don't want to do a walk around town with her, kind of a "one night stand" but in the morning.....OK thats enough on this rainy Sunday.

  7. Got the kids breakfast then hit the woods for the 1st time in 2 years. It was good to be out. Even with the light drizzle which hardly penetrated the tree canopy. Saw 2 squirrels. Both got away. Then came the heavy down pour which cut my day short. Hopefully I'll be back out soon.

  8. Finally got my new redneck blinds setup. Couldn't have done it without the help of my old man. Would have taken me ten times as long. First time we ever did anything big game hunting related together. I must say it was quite nice! Maybe one of these days I'll get him out there sitting with me too! Doubtful, but then again ya never know! Maybe we'll do some coyote hunting out of it! Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk

  17. I finally made a little brush blind in my overgrown apple orchard, been meaning to for years. I should be able to sneak into it from the road within 5 mins of leaving my front door. It is in the bottom of a high valley,so mornings should be good there. Then i went to the other property i hunt and made one there in a staging area by a hay field in an oak grove. I have no pics of that one yet. # from the ground maybe?

  19. Wow, I can't believe I never updated this thread with the result. I just reread the whole thing because I was sure I did. Sorry about that... Yes, I have been hunting with the new BAR and it has killed a few deer over the last 4 years including the big 9 in my avatar. It holds a group of 2 1/2 to 3 inches at 100 yds consistently no matter what ammo I try. While I would love this to be better it is acceptable to me. I knew purchasing an autoloader it was not going to be as accurate as a bolt gun but thought it would be a little better than that. My old Remington 600 .308 from the 60's will hold a tighter group. I still love the gun and it is what I always grab to go deer hunting.....

  22. After a couple small adjustments, I now have this years hunting set up shooting well, out to 40 yards. Went with the 100gr four blade Muzzy MX4 fixed head, and the Glory Nock lighted nock. And of course my new to me Obsession Phoenix, set at 52lbs. This is what I'll be practicing with now until the start of the season. Everything on this set up is new to me. And light years ahead of my 20 year old set up from last year. I'm very excited to head out to the deer woods on October 1st !

  23. Here is my unbiased opinion of the Glory Nock. I love it!! Installed the bushing and then the nock, it fit fine, bushing and nock were nice and tight, no glue needed. Easy. I added my Muzzy MX4 100gr broadhead, and shot at 20 yards. Was consistently hitting high and right. I shot a different arrow without the lighted nock, and was hitting the same spot. So it was the broadhead that changed my POI. Even tried a three blade Muzzy, and a NAP Thunderhead, all hit the same. So it was not the Glory Nock that made the difference in POI with my set up. So I made a couple of small adjustments and was hitting fine out to 40 yards with my hunting set up. Cool! The Glory Nock was so easy to shut off! Just put the nock back on the string, press the button, and pull it off, and it's off. With no tool needed. That simple! Picture above, doesn't really show how bright the nock is. It's plenty bright. Brought it into the garage, to simulate lower light conditions, and it was super bright! Being this is the only lighted nock I've ever tried, I can't really compare it to any other brand. But I will say, that these were easy to install, shot fine, are so very easy to turn off, and definitely bright enough! Just another change to my hunting set up for this year. Even an old guy can change things and make it more fun!! I give Glory Nocks the grampy two thumbs up rating.

  24. Went through some pics from the same camera. Still waiting for Steuben County Big but a nice group for only 6 days of pics. Once the bucks found the plot they became regulars and piebald almost lives on the plot. Like the pic with the leaf hanging from the 8pters mouth. Some hard horned bucks too. Set one more cam and will let them soak.

  31. Spent the first half day fiddling with deer stands. Saw how dang great and overcast it was and said I should be fishing! 3 hours later on a north pond in the kayak. 2.5 hours fishing and boated 13, 10 keeper bass. Caught a dandy 19” on a frog that got put back. Then caught a pig 21.5” 6+ pounder that got put back as well. Good day! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  35. Last winter I had a Browning trail cam giving me trouble. I started to see moisture in the case when I'd pull the card for review and some slight rust on the battery ejection compartment button. I tried it out a couple times at work this spring and it would burn through batteries in a few days, something was miss firing fo sho. Time went by pretty quick and I just never got to calling Browning to see if they'd do anything for a 3 year old camera. Fast forward to late last week while recovering from a week off due to a little mishap while working and nothing to do but rest up. I called Browning ( Prometheus Group ) and told my tale of woe. The nice fellow on the phone (turns out he's from Wheatfield NY) said send it in. Due to the age of it it wouldn't be under warranty but if it could be repaired, they'd email me a quote. I put it in the mail on Tuesday and much to my surprise and glee, a brand new camera arrived via FedEx this morning. Thank you Browning!
