Very much so. I always wondered why they called those from cattle "Rocky mountain oysters", until I gave them a try, with lots of pepper. I learned that trick from Steve Rinella from the "Meateater" video series on Netflicks. He cooks up some from antelope in one episode and mule deer in another. Both times, he used butter and "lots of pepper" when frying them up. The pepper is definitely the key (I used olive oil instead of butter). What keeps most folks from giving them a try, is a lack of the primary ingredient. If you ever get a pair yourself, and decide to try them, don't forget to slit thru the outer membrane first, or they will "explode" in the frying pan. No problem, oddly enough, my wife just mentioned that she would like to try a new meatball recipe (we have an abundance of ground venison in the freezer). Maybe she can give that "porcupine" one a try.2 points

Here are a few pics from our stay last summer. The first two are from my drone, in the first one you will see the proximity of the house to the beach, its the one with the reddish orange roof. The second pic is from just above the house looking East toward Atlantic Beach, where the closest retail shopping and restaurants are. The third is sunrise from the 3rd floor deck.2 points

Started it at 185, but I gradually upped it to 195. After waking up once an hour the whole night to check on it, I figured it needed to make it hotter than 185. 195 seems to be the ticket2 points

No bucks, a few does, lots of fox, no yotes surprisingly. Lots rabbits and squirrels and even a skunk in a snow squall. Got a few of one big fisher. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk2 points

I run a 22" grendel. Its heavy, i carried it yote hunting for 1.5 years, still do occasionally. 18 would definitely make a better hunting setup but my intentions were long range shooting, and occasional hunting.2 points

Too much awesome things to see that you wouldn't experience on a hunt . The ride into Denali Park was long and spectacular . We rode the bus half the time and stayed in different towns . The heliocopter to a glacier and drinking water up there was neat . Visited two different places where they raced dogs to run the Iderod . Rode a raft through an area and saw dozens of eagles . So many choices of food on the ship and made friends with some New Zelanders . I don't care to travel but this trip with site seeing was a great experience . The only thing I shot was pictures with my camera .2 points

In that little blurb from American Hunter they're claiming 6 to 9 feet less drop than a creedmore at 1000 yards. Out of a 16 inch barrel! I went down the rabbit hole with this yesterday. Only question left to me is :. How much is that Sig Scope going to run? There's a good video of an interview at the 2020 shot show :1 point

Interest piqued! I love my 300 WM. One of my Kimbers is chambered for this. I use for long range shooting. Want to take it for elk one day. $1600-1700 for that almost evil gun is reasonable I think. My long range shooting partner is retired Marine Scout Sniper, he loves the 308 WIN but loads his own to make them hotter. Shoots a Sako. I was looking into a Sako but want to see where this goes first. How do the ballistics compare to the 300 WM or 308 WIN? Anybody know?1 point

Is decadent lentil soup possible? Wellnof you take the remaining “juice” from braised short ribs, add 4 cups of venison stock and throw in some venison breakfast sausage and top with grated cheese you get a damn tasty lunch! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

I wasn't kidding when I haven't seen this kind of number in 20 years back when I started booking hunts. The add ons in Tanzania like $4000 charters have always kept me away. This is a drive into camp hunt after a commercial, in country, puddle jumper. And cheaper than a South African buffalo ranch hunt on 2 areas totaling 1.2 MILLION acres; about 2x the size of Dutchess county. 2019 46" bull Good luck, I have had quite a few good deals lined up for hunts and once you ask for the money you get a bunch of excuses and crickets. But its still a great idea!1 point

+1. I love Orange County, CA. I could get work in LA, but not OC. If I could commute OC to LA easily on a schedule like westchester to nyc I would do it in a second. But that commute can be brutal. I’d also have to sneak my mountain lion taxidermy in since they are banned in Cali Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

Lots of deer. Some trophy bucks. Lots of ticks. Limited access in most of the really good areas. As the older bucks learn to lay up in someone's backyard. But it can be done, in the Pine Bush.1 point

What’s great about them is the genuine friendships of hunting buddies...”let’s go talk to shooter” says Zach when pulling in after hearing about Joe’s miss. Great! same crap we would say at camp Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point
