  2. I put one of my Tasco cheapo cams out in a field a couple of months ago. I put it out to try the video setting and kind of forgot about it. Came across it last evening while brush hogging and pulled the card. Kind of a cool video for me. I wish the cheapo cam had sound, but no such luck. Pretty grainy video, most of the full night or full daylight vids are crisper. Must've been in that in between transitional light period. Just a 10 second clip.

  3. Got the old family fishing boat out of storage. '88 14 foot Grumman deep V with 15hp Yamaha. Getting some fresh gas tomorrow and hopefully she fires up. Got a new deep cycle battery for the trolling motor (not on yet). This boat has spent a ton of hours in the ADKs. Paradox, Brant, Schroon, Sacandaga lake (not resovoir), Fish Creek Ponds, Upper Saranac and a bunch of others. Hasn't been on the water in 5 years or so. Gonna take it up to Lincoln Pond in a couple weeks. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk

  5. Several years ago we had a flood and I had fry wash into my bait pond.. finally after trying to catch the invaders out after all the minnow and crab were gone I decided enough was enough, I decided to drain and remove all. Took a couple of 2 in pumps and a nice day and 6 hours but got it down to nothing. Had a friend come over who helped and we netted it 2x when it was a foot deep and she took the fish and a 5 gallon pail of trapdoor snails for her pond. Surprisingly there were quite a few crayfish left as well. 7 years after the incident it refilled, restocked and fatheads are reproducing quickly again. frog was temporarily displaced. Lot of Snails to be removed.four decent sized bass.., the round looking stones are all trapdoor snailsabout empty.those are all snails..18 bass fingerlings to remove.

  7. My BIL just bought a new Nitro bass boat. We will be heading up to the Great Sacandaga in the morning. He has a bass tournement coming up there. So we will break in the boat, and sling some different lures, hoping to put a pattern or two together. We have both done fairly well in tourney's up there over the years. See ya tomorrow, live from the water! Finally!

  8. Here they are.........two different sizes (Dan'll chime in on specifics) and they both work better than anything I've ever used. I'm not even close to being as proficient with these as the manufacturer as I've seen him in action on the mighty Niagara River. Catching smallmouth bass left, right & center......amazing display! This is the smaller of the two, strapped on like a marital aid ready for action.... And a couple of each, used and abused. The bigger hooks have been bent like crazy and I straighten them out, I really should put a hone on them for a little extra bite. At some point I'll have to call the designer, manufacturer, field tester and taste tester for another batch.

No wind for a good drift and could clearly see the bottom in 23’ made bass fishing hard. But had a lot of fun. Ended up connecting in 35’ Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  11. Talk about a narrow view. What is says is: Rate of fatal police shootings in the United States from 2015 to June 2020, by ethnicity (per million of the population) The chart shows the actual number of shootings period. In case you didn't know figures lie and liars figure. Some of my best friends have been black but if you were ever to look at the percentage of crimes being committed you would find the overwhelming majority to be black. I am not a racist but someone committing a serious crime needs to go to jail regardless of their color or ethnicity. I have heard a number of "Afro Americans" state they need to improve their image as a race by improving in a number of areas. I have worked and served with all kinds ethnic groups and can tell you most of the obstacles you speak of they create themselves. They have the same chances in most cases as everyone else. Just like everyone else the choices you make determine your future. Everything is not a race issue like all the media and self-serving politicians are making it out to be. Stand up and be responsible for person you become instead of just laying back and saying "I can't make it because of my race" when thousands of your own race can prove you wrong.

  21. I have been biding my time the last couple weeks, waiting for bass season to open up. My boat is only a year newer (1989). I re-powered it in 1999 with the current 70 hp Johnson, and I downgraded the "kicker" this year from a 1989 15 hp Johnson to a 1956 Evinrude 5.5. The Min-kota trolling motor up front is late 80's vintage. I am going to let the crew make a "game-day" decision (somewhat weather dependent) on if we hit lake Erie, or the upper Niagara river for the bass opener on Saturday. I am excited about trying out the new Garmin front fish-finder/GPS, and a new spinning rod I just picked up. The big motor and the trolling motor worked good a couple a few weeks ago on a pre-season "shakedown" cruise. I probably will not fire up the old Evinrude 5.5 until Fourth of July weekend (on a 14 ft Meyers rowboat) up at my in-laws place in the Adirondacks (that lake has a 10 hp max limit). We are down to our last pack of frozen bass in the freezer from last year so it is almost time to "get to work".

  22. I have a 14' Lowe aluminum boat with a 25 hp Mariner outboard. I just started mine up yesterday in preparation for bass season. I fish the Finger Lakes predominately Owasco Lake, Skaneateles Lake, and Cayuga Lake. I have found this size boat to be ideal for fishing. I have owned larger boats is the past and sold them in favor of a 14' aluminum boat. They last a lifetime if you take care of them. I have a couple of tips for you as your boat has been in storage for 5 years. Install a new spark plug or plugs and spray some starting fluid into the cylinders before trying to start it up. This should make starting it up much easier. Good luck this season and stay safe on the water. valoroutdoors.com

  27. Mine is not to fancy but serves the purpose. I don't do a lot of shooting but have a range with marked off yardages at 25, 50, 75 & 100 yards. 150 yards is possible but not measured and if need be I can get out to 325 yards but have only shot that distance a few times. Most of my shooting is for zeroing in or checking zero. Occasionally my daughter comes out to shoot and we have a permanent 4'x4' wooden target stand with a big dirt mound behind it that we can staple targets. or cardboard to. Change the board every couple of years and we are good to go. I also made a pvc stand that we hang milk jugs filled with water from. Kind of redneck way but works for us. If we want to shoot at different distances I use a light weight shooting table that can easily be moved from one spot to another.

  28. Note: Not GOP vs Democrats. Ideology not politics. The Clear Differences Between the Left and the Right Stephen Moore · Jun. 9, 2020 The crisis of the coronavirus-induced economic lockdown and now the violent protests in the streets have unleashed a depression-level financial crisis and unprecedented human suffering — especially in our inner cities. These events have also exposed a Grand Canyon-sized chasm that now separates how the left and the right see America today. To wit: No. 1: The right believes that stay-at-home orders and social distancing requirements are counterproductive and should be repealed safely and immediately. The left believes that those orders must stay in place but should only apply to those on the right, not to liberal protesters. No. 2: The right engages in nonviolence. The left shows tacit support for mob violence. No. 3: The right believes the best way to revive the economy is to incentivize a dormant workforce to get back on the job. The left believes that the best way to revive the economy is to pay people more money not to work than to work. No. 4: When the right protests against injustice, such as 40 million people losing their jobs due to lock downs, it is always during the light of day so they can be seen and heard. The left protests in the dark so people can’t see what crimes some of the protestors are committing. No. 5: When the right attends rallies, they carry the American flag. When the left protests (and riots), the only American flags you see are burned. No. 6: The right believes there are limits to how much governments can spend and borrow to avoid national bankruptcy and financial ruin. The left believes that trillions of dollars of added spending and debt are advisable and benign. No. 7: When the right holds rallies, the protesters clean up after themselves. When the left protests, they ransack and burn their neighborhoods, spray-paint obscene graffiti and leave a mess of litter and trash everywhere for someone else to clean up. Yet leftists say they are the environmentalists. No. 8: The right stands in support of small-business people’s rights and has been asking businesses like hardware stores, run by immigrants or other minority owners, to open up. The left’s rallies lead to looting and burning down the hardware stores. No. 9: The right believes the best way to get people back to work is by getting money straight to people’s paychecks through a payroll tax cut. The left thinks the best course is to give money to mayors, governors and other politicians. No. 10: The right wants to help prevent racism in urban police forces by firing incompetent and bigoted police officers. The left stands by the unions, which prevent police from being fired. No. 11: The right wants to make America look like Florida and Texas. The left wants the rest of the nation to look like New York and Illinois – which are crumbling from rioting, lock downs, high taxes and an accelerating stampede of businesses leaving the state. Those are the monumentally important choices America faces. This is what the 2020 elections are all about on Nov. 3. COPYRIGHT 2020 CREATORS.COM

  29. I can’t keep up. I’m exhausted trying to figure out what we’re all supposed to do, believe, and be offended and outraged by next. Two months ago, First Responders were all the rage. In fact, they were heroes. We gave them free coffee, meals, and cheers as they drove by.Today we hate them and want them defunded because they can’t be trusted. Two months ago, truck drivers were the heroes, as well, for keeping America moving and the grocery stores stocked. Today we block the roads with protesters, drag them out of the cabs and beat them half to death. Nurses and Doctors are still cool for now. But they may be unemployed. They too are heroes, unless of course they truly believe all lives matter. Then they’re filled with hate and are part of problem like so many others. Just 45 days ago protests weren’t “essential” and were considered criminal, selfish and a murderous activity. Today they are gloriously critical and celebrated. All of the obvious criminal and murderous activities are simply ignored. If you protest about lockdowns for freedom, you are selfish and you will spread a virus. If you protest, loot, and riot for social justice, you are a warrior and the virus cedes. Trust the experts. No, not those experts. Don’t wear masks ... wear masks, but only good ones. Wait, don’t wear masks, wear anything as a mask. Nevermind on the masks. Not sure, but if you don’t, you hate people because you could be an asymptomatic spreader. Wait. That's not a thing anymore? For 3 months, NOTHING was more important than social distance. In fact, we gave up all of our liberties for it. We canceled schools, medical and dental procedures, yet allowed the murder of babies, canceled activities, closed businesses, eliminated every spring rite of passage from prom to graduation, denied people funerals, even at Arlington, and we wrecked the economy for it. Then came social justice, and social distance was no more. Now things are more cut and dry though. A thousand people at three memorials for someone they never even met. It's a matter of "respect". But you can only assemble 100 or less people. Black Lives Matter. Of course they do. Then multiple black police officers and individuals were killed during the “peaceful protests”. I don’t see any outrage. Black individually owned businesses burned to the ground. Silence. Deadliest weekend in Chicago. NOTHING!! I’m really confused now. Look at the data, NO, not that data. Do the math. No, you can’t do the math like that. Only the experts can understand the data and math. What do you mean other cities/states/governors are interpreting the data differently? Pools are safe in Indiana, but not Michigan? Playgrounds are safe in your town but not mine? Amusement parks are safe in Florida but not Ohio, nor Michigan. Just listen to the black community leaders. No, not them. If you are silent you are part of the problem. If you speak, you are part of the problem. If you have to ask, you don’t understand. If you don’t ask, you don’t care. It’s all so predictable, tedious, and exhausting. Nothing adds up. It’s one gigantic common core Math life problem, with ever changing denominators that I’m sure the media and politicians are eagerly ready to solve for us....until they create the next "crisis". So for now I pray. I pray God will heal our land and bless the United States of America. ***Copied From A Friend****

  31. Thank you for the response. Your part number 1. Of course there is plenty of room for improvement when it comes to systematic racism. I can't agree more. There is room for improvement in a facet of life. As far as you never hear of unarmed white guys getting shot. That isn't true. More unarmed white men were shot in 2019 than black men. That is a fact. Was it that way 10 years ago? Probably not but saying more unarmed black men are killed today than unarmed white men isn't true. The overwhelming majority of police are good people. Nobody is saying what happened to George Floyd was ok. I believe like Martin Luther King said. People should be judged by their character and not the color of their skin. I believe there are scumbags, in every walk of life and good people in every walk of life. Your part number 2: I agree with you that police unions have too much power. I think Unions in general have to much power from the police union to the teachers union etc. IMO, at some point, unions went from addressing working conditions for the worker to protecting the bad apples. They have created their own downfall. Democrats are the ones that always back unions. Your part number 3. I am not really sure how to respond to that. I didn't grow up in the ghetto so I have no idea what they are thinking. What I do believe is, you can't government people into prosperity. This has been proven over and over again. I believe there are people in the Ghetto that want to get out and work hard to accomplish that. There are plenty of examples of this. I also believe there are a lot of people that would rather sell drugs then work at McDonalds like I did. (I actually worked at Dairy Queen) Where they have to show up at a specific time and answer to someone. I think there are a lot of people that don't want to leave the ghetto as well. Its the life they know and like. Why do football players that make millions of dollars go right back to the ghetto and get arrested in the off season if all they wanted to do was get out. Why don't the people in the ghetto speak out about all the crime and shootings in their neighborhood? Why don't they protest that crime and violence? I don't know the answer to those questions. Your part number 4. Racism bubbling back up under Obama was true and I 100% disagree that Obama was a moderate. Obama had the opportunity to unite this country like no other president. His message could have been to all the black people out there, see what America can do if you are a black person and you work for it? You can obtain anything you want to if you try, even become president of the United States. I would have respected the hell out of him if that was his message even when I wasn't liking his policies. Instead his message was the exact opposite of that. His wife said it was the first time she was ever proud of her country. I have no idea how you can say Obama was a moderate. Everything he did was to try and equalize people through taxes and health care and the middle class took the brunt of it. How did Obama better your life? In your opinion Trump embraces the right wing white folks, IMO he is just the only one that speaks with common sense. He is the only one saying that the overwhelming majority of police officers are good people. He is saying that what happened to George Floyd was atrocious and has never said anything but that. He is saying that we need law and order in this country. Somehow saying all lives matter has become racist. How is tearing down our history helpful? How is letting looters and rioters tear down our history a good thing? I agree it is a scary time, but not because of Trump. I would still love to hear how Obama improved your life.....

  42. It's a free country, although it is becoming less free everyday. What have you contributed to the thread other than calling people names that don't agree with you? I would love to have an intelligent conversation with someone with the opposite political views as myself but that doesn't ever seem possible. I have replied respectfully to several of your posts with my feelings in regards to them with no response. Are you still looking for an article where voter fraud went for the conservative candidate? I find it hard to believe that if you are a middle class American like most of us here that Obama didn't negatively affect your life. If he was a positive I would love to hear how. What do you want to see as a direction for this country? IMO it should be well proven that you can't government people into prosperity. Do you agree with Black Lives Matter and defunding the police? Do you agree with tearing down our history? Do you agree with CHAZ in Seattle and think those people are patriots? Do you agree that police are killing unarmed black men even though every statistic says that isn't true? How do you think Biden will better your life over Trump? If your going to join the discussion.... Actually join the discussion..

  43. Day #4 in a row. Caught my first channel cat ever. Took a Panther Martin. Subtle head shakes like a sheephead and thought that’s what it was. Never holding one I didn’t initially want to hold up thru gills and may possibly hurt it “ grab it like a bass “ The Real TC tells me. Ok . Chomping down with pressure like in a vise. Holy crap what pressure. I guess they crack freshwater clams I learned. Minutes later he outdoes mine with an even bigger one on a lightweight combo. That looked like fun. Guys always fishing for them on forked sticks but I’ve never seen one caught there , only heard. I totaled only 8 smallmouth today. Fun morning with friends on a perfect day.40 smallmouth- sheephead- steelhead and cat in 3 days on same spinner. Finally lost it. Time to order some more stat ! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  45. A Chipmunk's cute looks have always been their saving grace with the general public, but the reality is they are nothing more than a cute Rat and when they come out of the woods and start getting into buildings and vehicles they cause the same kinds of damage and filth as Rats. They also breed similar to Rats so it does not take long to repopulate after killing them off, a lot like the beat the gopher games at carnivals, you knock them down and another will keep popping up. On my place it has always been a non stop battle with them as they get into everything here on the farm, my arsenal of dogs, traps, guns and water buckets is in full swing right now, we have eliminated a bunch but there is no rest from them, just try to keep their numbers as low as possible.
